Rune Of Shabbat Rest

כ"ו באב תשס״ט
Lughnasadh 27

There are seven runes and one 'empty space' in my runic name. The seven runes of my name shall correspond in my life to the seven days of the week.

As Odin is the chief Divinity in Germanic tradition who guides souls, mediating between the conscious and unconscious realms, so too shall Odin's day (Wednesday) guide the week in my runic practice. Thus, the first rune in my name corresponds to Wednesday, the second rune to Thursday, the third rune to Friday, the fourth rune to Shabbat ... the fifth rune to Sunday, the sixth rune to Monday and the seventh rune to Tuesday.

Interestingly, under Odin's guidance, the fourth rune in my name corresponds to Shabbat, the Jewish Sabbath day of rest. The fourth rune in my name is also the rune of rest, namely Isa. Beside Isa, rests the empty space in which the Soul of Shabbat Consciousness is pulled into manifest existence.

All my Ancestors and the mysteries of the magical alphabets I've inherited from them are in harmony within me. Peaceful and full of well-being is my inheritance. It is כל טוב, all good.

Endless Legion From The Elementary Sea

ח' אב התשס"ח
Lughnasadh 9

I dreamt.

Behind the scenes some who didn't like me were trying to create animosity against me in secret meetings within a community located by the sea, where I too was located. It was a small movement doomed to failure. More and greater were those in need of me.

In the dream, another evening meeting place over and against the instigators' meeting was occurring in the gymnasium of the elementary school I had attended as a child (the building is no longer a school). I was sitting on the stairs (in the middle) right outside the gymnasium, which led up to the fourth/fifth and sixth grade classrooms which I had once occupied in the 4th, 5th and 6th grades.* Here in the elementary school of my youth, support for me was mustering together.

The wizard who now owned the old elementary school was calling up forces more powerful than those against me, and way beyond the small domain of my enemies' forces. Sitting on the stairs of old Lynch School, I felt trusting, innocent and childlike. I felt so protected, sitting on those stairs, so at home, so magically rooted into the heart of the earth.

Then, I saw the forces coming together in the darkness of night outside the building. An endless legion of creatures ascended from the sea and came ashore, onto the land of living creatures, and mixed into the community. Elemental forces swirled invisibly with the air surrounding the building. A warm fiery glow softly lit the consecrated space inside the schoolbuilding.

I felt completely safe, completely protected. My spirit rested with perfect peace.

I woke up.

*Classrooms for Grades 1-3 and half of 4th Grade were located on the ground floor. Classrooms for the other half of 4th Grade and Grades 5-6 were located on the second floor. I spent 4th Grade in the second floor classroom. In this dream, I was sitting in the middle of the stairs 'between' and 'joining' the first and second floors. I attended this school for all 6 years of my elementary school education.

Hishtavut - Her Sound In The Garden

כ'ו באייר תשס"ח
Mab 27

Erev Shabbat (counting yet not counting yesod of yesod - or 41 days which is 5 weeks and 6 days of the Omer - by both the Ari and the Gra), a long line of tornadic thunderstorms rolled through the midwest. In some of the surrounding counties hailstones the size of golf balls came down, Doppler Radar 4x reported live on channel 10 last night. Several tornadoes touched down. In Indianapolis, CNN reports this morning:

At least 14 people were injured late Friday night as a severe thunderstorm with at least one possible tornado ripped through Indianapolis' east side and other nearby counties.

Buildings were heavily damaged at the Falcon Point apartments on Marietta Drive, off 38th Street and Mitthoeffer Road.

About 150 people from the complex were evacuated to John Marshall Middle School.

Foxnews reports that no deaths have resulted from the severe tornadic storms that rolled through the area last night. That 150 people were evacuated to the Middle School is particularly interesting, because this is what happened to me last evening.

What would the Shabbat storm tell me?

During the height of the storm in my area, I prepared and dressed my Shabbat candles, one of which was a stone charged, herbally charged earth element green pillar candle. Carved with mystic symbols, dressed with my own blend of Ceridwen oil, and handrolled with a special faery blend of botanicals, I brought their flames to life.

Then, I went to get a stick of dragon's blood incense. Only, after picking up the package of dragon's blood, I decided I wanted to use a stick of Witches Brew instead. Opening the drawer to one of my herb cabinets, I pulled out a package of Witches Brew stick incense. I have several packages of Witches Brew stick incense. I held for a moment the first sealed package I had picked up in my hand, then replaced it back into the cabinet drawer, picking up a different package of Witches Brew that had been taped closed. Not this one. Exchanging the packages for a second time, I returned to the first package I had originally picked up, opened it and pulled out a stick of Witches Brew incense.

אב with a gematria of 3, restoration of the broken vav of shalom.

The incense-containing ends of the incense in packages of Witches Brew are not visible. One chooses an incense stick by the bare wood ends that rest near the opening of the package. The Witches Brew incense stick I pulled out was split several inches up the grain of the wood on the now-double (like Shabbat loaves joining 7 heavens with the ark of the covenant in the core of the earth) ended incense-bearing end of the stick. In other words, the bare end was whole (one) and the incense end was split (two). Both lengths of the split bore the Witches Brew blend of botanicals. I lit both ends simultaneously in the earth elemental Shabbat candle flame and placed the incense stick smoldering side down into the Celtic triquetra smoking bottle style incense burner on my altar.

My shamanic alphabet divination consisted of 3 Hebrew letters and 1 Ogham letter.

First, around 8:22 p.m., using my standard and rather simple procedure (where I do not see the 3 letters I am selecting from among 22 otiot), I pulled out 3 Hebrew letter cards, in this order:

קלכ

With a gematria of 150, the word means 'your sound' as found in Bereshit 3:10 - "and I heard the 'sound of your voice' in the garden."

Then, also according to my simple standard procedure (where I also do not see the 1 letter I am selecting from among 20 feda, each fid pyrographed into one of my 20 Ogham staves), I pulled out 1 Ogham letter stave:

Nin - the letter of support, connection, feminine power and writing for clarity and contract. It can also mean "fork" (like my Witches Brew incense stick was "forked" at one end). A fork is a bifurcation within chaos with the power to radically change the course of reality and history.

In Ogam, Weaving Word Wisdom, Erynn Rowan Laurie writes on nin:

[Nin is a fid of] weaving together individuals and energies into a greater tapestry of cooperation and peace. In Gaelic terms it expresses a concept akin to the Lakota phrase mitakuye oyasin or "all my relations". Nin is a fid of relationships, both familial and conceptual.

Relationships with others also bring obligation as well as support. Where you are supported, you are also in a place to provide support to others who need your assistance. Nin is the fid of a friend.

Nin's magic is that of weaving and community creation. It can be used to help bring people together for a common cause, and is good for working on peace projects and other tasks that bring disparate people and communities together. Its link with letters and contracts means that it can be used in workings for clarity and understanding in written communications and to help keep legal proceedings in a clear and cooperative space.

With the celestial current, this fid is one of clarity and communication. It suggests harmony and peace in relationships, and speaks of friendship, cooperation and common cause among diverse people. Nin brings connections through communication, and urges you to look for deeper meaning. Nin's link with writing and contracts by necessity brings a connection with the law and the establishment of social order through legal means.

Legally whole peace of rare strength.

Nin corresponds to the ash tree and the herb nettle.

Nettle cloth is stronger and wears better than linen, though fewer fibers can be gleaned from nettle than from flax.

In Ogam, The Celtic Oracle Of Trees, Paul Rhys Mountfort writes on nin/ash:

Ash is a check on peace, for from it [the ash tree] are made the spear shafts by which peace is broken [or restored].

Erynn and Paul both teach that according to Celtic tradition, ash/nin corresponds to 'the contest, boast or flight of women.' Consequently, the contest of women can break peace apart or women's weaving can bring it together into a freedom song of flight. The reality of whole peace or broken quasi-peace/war is given over to the Divine Feminine, manifesting through the collective soul of Womankind.

Paul writes further on nin/ash:

Nin is the ash, a great and sacred tree in Celtic mythology ... presiding over the processes of transformation and manifestation.

This ogam is linked to fate. This does not mean that destiny is iron-cast, but points to the unique fate-path that you have to pursue in this world - one which, although it contains many possible options, is singular to you and no one else. Nin counsels you to regard the continuous unfolding of events as signposts, prompting and guiding you on your journey.

It also challenges you to take up the wand of manifestation and make reality anew for yourself. Positivity, creative visualization, ritual and spellcraft are all instruments of manifestation you may wish to draw upon.

One of ash's greatest features is the massive height to which the tree grows; up to 150 feet. It has quite a sheer trunk with widely spaced branches, and this pole-like appearance contributed to its association in Celtic and Nordic thought to the axis mundi: the central column and axis that supports the sky. As such, it also appears as a type of bridge between the earth and heavens.

Ogam wands were originally made of ash, and the root word nin means 'letters'.

In both cases [of illustrative myth stories shared in the book] we see a symbolic transformation or rite of passage from being controlled by fate to having it in one's own hands. From this flow nin's associations as a tree letter of empowerment in matters of transformation and destiny. In drawing the nin, it is as if you have been handed a magical tool of ash with which to work your will in the world.

I carved the letter nin into my Jewitch wand (the two forms of the letter shin already carved into it at the wand's initial creation), a tool of destiny within my hands, here now in this post with real-world and earthy correspondences to:

* magical letters of creation and transformation

* shins of chochmah (300) and binah (150-150), distinct yet as one

* the middle pillar, ha-emtsa

* hishtavut, magical-mystical balance (nin/150 - קלכ/150) and achieving an immunity to curses

* double-loaved challah, tikun and transformation of evil into holiness

* transformation of a 'curse' (קלל) into a 'blessing' (קלכ)

* restoration of the Divine Feminine

* restoration of the Kohenet Tzedeket (axis mundi, tzadikim nistarim)

* unification (height of nin and gematria of קלכ equals 300/shin)

* restoration of the broken vav of peace (the halved, broken wand of Pinchas transformed into a messianic split middle vav of the Hebrew letter shin)

By this time after carving my wand, the fury of the storm had passed over, but it was still raining heavily and thunderous outside, with lightning dancing across the dark skies. I went outside, felt the magic of the fiercely gentle wind in my face, and let the cool rainwater pour over me as I walked widdershins (holding the essential power of Dark Light) 3 times and 4 upon the wet sacred ground where I walked barefoot like a point of connection joining the entire expanse of heaven with the center of the earth. I felt the soft current of connection sparkling most intimately through the soles of my feet - the heat of the heart of heaven joined to the heat in the womb of the earth as they collided together in the wet cool grass against my skin.

Wholy awesome!

Kept in a black resin pentacle box at the face of my altar when not in ritual use, I slept with my spirit cord around my waist this Shabbat night last night.

Sheydim In Beit HaBechirah

י'ב באייר תשס"ח
Mab 13

In contrast to today's earlier entry on the collapse at Angels Camp, here is an entry on sheydim (commonly, yet incorrectly, identified as demons).

Excerpts from Magic Of The Ordinary: Recovering The Shamanic In Judaism (Gershon Winkler):

The book of the Zohar, one of the most classical of the Jewish mystical texts, describes the sheydim as "half human, half angel" ... (beings who) dance between both the spirit world and the physical world ...

who await their completion during Shabbat*.

"And the Source of Powers said: 'The earth should bring out of itself the Life Spirit ...", taught Rabbi Yehudah HaNasi, "these are the sheydim, whose souls the Creator fashioned and whose bodies the Creator was about to form when the Settling Time (Shabbat) arrived ..."

Jewish tradition recounts quite extensively how sheydim were invoked by people for evil or good.

Although "demonized" by religious scripture and folklore, sheydim are also mentioned in more positive contexts. Shlomo, who was Chief of Hebrew tribes during the ninth century B.C.E., is recorded as having made positive use of sheydim as have several of the early rabbis. Dabbling in the arts of invoking sheydim is therefore not to be confused with "demonology" and was never prohibited by Jewish law except in instances when sheydim were invoked as primary source powers rather than supplemental aids in "supernatural" maneuvering [1]. But invoking sheydim as aids for effecting "supernatural" phenomena rather than as primary causes of such phenomena, is althogether different and permissible in Jewish shamanic practice.

In Jewish shamanic practice, the "supernatural" is none other than a deeper "natural", and there really is no such thing as the "supernatural":

The various permutations of the various Sacred Names can effect or rearrange the "natural order" of things, since the natural order of things and their makeup are animated by Creator whose creative essence is concealed within many Names. The kabbalistic rite of the permutation of the Sacred Names would then be like rearranging molecules with the intention of altering their structures to effect any variety of manifestations.

The MaHaRaL noted that the realms of both the physical and the spiritual share the same Primary Root Cause, the Creator's ineffable Name, which, when pronounced properly constitutes an invocation of that attribute of the Infinite that manifests in the ever-unfolding dynamics of ever-continuing creation. Therefore, a supernatural occurence invoked by chanting the Sacred Name constitutes no disruption of the order of the physical universe. In other words: there is actually no such thing as "supernatural" ...

The secrets of sorcery and of ancient mystery wisdom altogether are exclusively to be discovered neither in books nor in workshops but deep down in the cobwebbed cellars of each and every one of us, buried within the murky mystery of our Essential Self. After all, the masters quoted in these ancient and early medieval texts must have gotten their inspiration and wisdom from somewhere other than books. For the main part, this body of wisdom was transmitted orally since Avraham, who in turn may have learned a lot of it from Eber and Malchizedek, whom the ancient rabbis considered the primary mentors of the first Hebrews.

One idea (inserted above*) regarding the sheydim that I will bring down into Rabbi Winkler's excellent instruction is this - the sheydim are made Holy when completed in the beauty of Shabbat consciousness. So mote it be. אמן

Holy Holy Holy Host

ח' באדר ב' תשס"ח
Raven 9

Tzav, Pakod, Meumah - Holy, Holy, Holy

In Unblemished Mitzvah I brought down the idea that the vulnerability of meumah to blemish (mum) is neutralized by the presence of tzav (command of mobilization), and that materiality neutralized of potential blemish is actualized through the endless action pakod. Remembering.

Interestingly, as mentioned in the earlier entry, meumah and tzav each have a gematria of 92. The digit sum of 92 is 11. Eleven is the number of Temple incense spices corresponding to the rectification of Tohu (the state from which the vessels may shatter and become seemingly disconnected from Wholeness), the elevation of Tohu back into the realm of Holiness, and the "distillation and transformation of all corporeality and physicality into supernal luminescence."

Torah instructs us not to duplicate the Temple incense compound for personal use, lest s/he be "cut off" (shattered and seemingly disconnected). In other words, the duplication of meumah implies that bringing down the power of meumah without tzav (bringing down something from something), may shatter the personality, while the power of meumah tempered with tzav (bringing down something and nothing), does not shatter the personality. The personality remains whole in the case where the 92-compound meumah is not itself duplicated, but tempered through a different 92-compound, namely tzav.

Tzav tempers meumah by adding it's own digit sum of 11 to the 11 of meumah, bringing down the whole essence of the 22 Creation Letters of the aleph-beit.

Thus, meumah is not duplicated for personal use, it is completed in a wholistic bodily realization (a Host) of Intelligent Creative Consciousness.

Importantly, with respect to the upcoming observance of Purim, the word-set tzav-pakod-meumah corresponds to the "holy, holy, holy" descent of my soul through all contractions of the created world, while yet still remaining bound to the Divine Essence.

Voice Of The Shofar

כ'ז באדר א' תשס"ח
Keolwulf 28

Here may be another explicit example of apopsi anti-psi deflective filtering.

Following recent entries concerning dynamics found within my natal birth chart - Soul Of Shomer Shabbat (discussing guarding shabbat and "truth following"), A Mystery Of The Pardes (discussing two letters yod, each with a gematria of 14, whole in the eternal flame of my soul), and Mountains Tremble With Moon Square Mars (discussing the power to move mountains and to turn the world upside down) - CNN reports today:

Reported Tornado Tears Up Guard Barracks
Tuesday, March 4, 2008

A possible tornado touched down late Monday in southern Mississippi, slashing through a National Guard barracks and injuring 14 guardsmen, according to a sheriff and a military spokesman.

Lt. Col. Doril Sanders, a spokesman for Camp Shelby, said severe weather hit the facility around 11:25 p.m. CT.

The barracks housed guardsmen from Mena, Arkansas, who are training at Shelby.

They were taken to Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg with injuries that aren't life-threatening, Sanders said.

Again, the circle remains unbroken by the evil wind, and the northern side of the beit remains closed. The stellium stands as I interpreted it.

Soul Of Shomer Shabbat

כ'ו באדר א' תשס"ח
Keolwulf 27

Interestingly, in further follow-up to previous entries discussing my astrological natal charts, I note that in both the Tropical Placidus and Sidereal Whole reckonings, 4 of the 8 Elemental Fire signs of my chart concentrate in the fifth house of the zodiac.

On the fifth house of the zodiac (About Astrology):

The Fifth House is commonly referred to as the House of Pleasure. Oftentimes, pleasure is the result of a creative act. The simple act of creating is, essentially, giving of oneself and making something -- making another? Yes, the Fifth House does speak to procreation and children, but it also addresses the creation of art and culture.

Simply, the fifth house concerns pleasurable creative endeavors of Shechinah (see Shechinah & The Mystery Of Zero).

The 4 signs in the fifth house, written in my soul, are:

Jupiter - tav (ת) with a gematria of 400
Saturn - reish (ר) with a gematria of 200
Mercury - pei (פ) with a gematria of 80
Sun - dalet (ד) with a gematria of 4

The Hebrew letter tav represents the "time" of Shabbat.

The letters רפד mean to "surround, envelop with loving affection" (MorFix). In other words, the letters suggest a "guarding action", that is, by surrounding with love and affection.

Justice, justice, it follows (תרדף).

It's truth.

Just Two Shabbatot

כ"ד בטבת תשס"ח
Grael 25

In my previous entry describing this morning's dream, Cleave Land, I wrote:

There were so many singing red birds that the songs and the birds themselves blurred into one sound and sight of indistinct red chaos, yet I concentrated (almost as if pulling myself inward together) to listen for a distinct message to come out from among them.

I focused.

The first mystical action of "concentrating to pull myself in" is related to an entry posted nearly 2 shabbatot ago, Mirror Magic, where I wrote:
A concave mirror is "where a parallel beam of light becomes a convergent beam, whose rays intersect in the focus of the mirror." (Wiki)

The second mystical action of further "focusing" is related to last shabbat's entry, Wisdom Casting Cloth, where I wrote:
The square of the cloth symbolizes the Middle World, ha'Emtsa.

The inner square (Midhe) is comprised of 7-7.2" lines and symbolizes focus or the powers of concentration, memory, recognition, and sensitivity to meaning.

Path Of The Just

י'ד בכסלו תשס"ח
Shamash 16

Acting with the energy of the lights of Tohu, in vessels of Tikkun ... because I can.

This shabbat full moon esbat at 6:33 am, I woke up and wrote down the major symbols of a complex dream so I would remember them.

I saw two Hebrew letters clearly in the dream, a tzadi (צ) was somewhat hidden behind a zayin (ז). The zayin "stepped forward" toward clearer closer identification. In the dream, I said,

"I claim the zayin for now."

In other words, while both letters were "mine", I indicated the one acting "for now" was the letter zayin.

There was another hidden letter as well.

Each letter was associated in some manner with a different and specific aspect of a dandelion.

The zayin, the clearer letter visually, was associated with a yellow dandelion set in a mid-horizontal line on a white door. (This mid-horizontal line corresponds to the path of the letter aleph (א) located "between" Gevurah and Chesed on the Tree of the Sefirot. Zayin is the letter corresponding to the path between Chochmah and Tiferet on the Tree of Life in the GRA array.)

The tzadi was itself somewhat hidden somewhat revealed in the background of directed observation, "behind the zayin", and was associated with a somewhat hidden, somewhat revealed red-like dandelion set opposite the yellow dandelion - out of the line of direct visual sight, but well within the higher mind's eye. In other words, though I didn't see the red-like dandelion with my dream eyes, I saw it through my higher mind beyond the eye - and as the tzadi was "behind" the zayin, the red-like dandelion was "opposite" the yellow one. In my mind, this kind of "seeing yet not seeing" is some "in between" form of quasi-reverse vision. (Tzadi is the path between Netzach and Malchut on the Tree of the Sefirot in the GRA array.)

Beyond both the zayin and the tzadi, and beyond both the yellow and red-like dandelion, I perceived the presence of both another "hidden" letter and another "hidden kind" of dandelion. I did not see directly or indirectly either the hidden letter or the hidden dandelion, but I perceived the Presence, associating the hidden dandelion with, not a color or color-like aspect, but with the essence of the dandelion - a dandelion essence. (This essence corresponds to all the "other" empty yet not empty space between the distinct letter paths on the Tree of the Sefirot which gives form to all the distinct letter paths. It is the pure Divine Feminine no-man's land of the vacated space, the chalal hapanui. This is complete reverse or negative vision.)

As I was waking from the dream, I clearly heard a word pronounced like "sern", spelled in English either as "sern" (like the enterotoxin-like microbial gene studied in medical research laboratories) or "cern" (like the high-energy particle physics laboratory). Both Sern and Cern pertain to "states in between" - the former (sern) to a place "in between" being a distinct toxin "code" or being distinctly non-toxin "code", and the latter (cern) to quantum non-localized fuzzy states existing "in between" distinct places in space. Like klipat nogah, both "sern" and "cern" point to a tachash state of being.

When I woke up from the dream, I remembered clearly that someone had been messing with my instrumental music CDs in my office at work. One of my CDs called Wishes has a dandelion on it - I noticed it had been moved slightly when I went in to work yesterday morning and returned it to its place.

Taking all this together, this dream in triplets pertains to 3 kinds of perception:

direct vision (physical/nefesh and psychic-dream/ruach, color-tzeva)
quasi-reverse vision (indirect/neshamah, color-like light-aur)
reverse-negative vision (hidden yet .../chayah-yechidah, radiance-aur gadol/darkness)

Interestingly, this dream follows the initial act shabbat evening of naming time according to the Witches' Year in parallel with the Hebrew date. The first Witches' calendar date I used for posting entries is today Shamash 16, where Shamash has correspondences to dandelion, the color yellow, the sefirah Tiferet, Hebrew Shemesh and the Hebrew letter meaning "door" (dalet ד).

The path of the Just is a great shining light emerging from within darkness.

Sod Ha-Ibbur, Turning History

ח' בחשון תשס"ח

Elucidating further on my entry at Craftwork Of A Jewitch, my simple wand looks like the one pictured. I harvested it last winter as it soaked in the snow near the lilac bush that grows right outside the window of the room I had as a little girl (and during the time of the epiphany).

As a snow-soaked water-oriented instrument of the earth, my wand carries a powerful synthesis of earth and water elemental energies. This powerful energy is represented by the Hebrew letter mem (מ, ם). Through mem (see link), my wand has the following correspondences:

Concept: The springing up of wisdom from the well of the superconscious.

Meaning: Water; a perfect imperfection.

Shape: A reservoir, with a slight opening in its lower left corner. The final mem: A completely enclosed reservoir.

Number: 40.

Space: Earth.

Time: Winter.

Soul: Lower torso, specifically the abdomen.

Quality: Love expressing itself like water.

Archetype: Mashiach ben David.

Channel: From netzach to hod.

Made from lilac wood, my wand has further correspondences to feminine power, Venus and again, the element of water. It's magical properties include protection and exorcism of negativity and evil. In other words, it functions to guard the integrity of the energy it directs.

It has no adornments other than the magical carvings I have made into it. Measuring 10 and 3/8 inches long from point to point, the wood of the slender instrument is kept supple by treating it periodically with Feminine Clarity oil.

The 10 3/8 inch length of my wand contains the strengths of the encompassing souls: yechidah (י yod, 10) and chayah (ח chet, 8). It also contains the strengths of the 3 (ג gimel) personal souls: neshamah, ruach and nefesh. All these levels acting with unity as one instrument brings out the Holy Voice of Shabbat Consciousness, neshamah yetzirah, ruach hakodesh.

The 10 3/8 inch length of my wand contains the power of all the letters of creation: 10 + 3 + 8 + 1 (the im hakolel, the entirety of instrument) = 22 (letters of the aleph-beit).

The 10 3/8 inch length of my wand is the gematria (21) of the Divine Name, Ehyeh אהיה.

The 10 3/8 inch length of my wand contains the gematriot of all time – past (היו, were Bereshit 6:4), present (היו, be Shemot 19:15) and future (אהיה, will be Shemot 3:12).

The Nephilim were on the earth in those days … Bereshit 6:4 (yod)

She said to the people, “Be prepared, after a 3 (gimel) day period …” Shemot 19:15

For I will be with you and this is your sign (chet) that I have sent you … Shemot 3:12

The letters of the length of my wand using messianic reverse vision become chet-gimel-yod (חגי), meaning “my festival” and “my turning of time”. So appropriate is this wand for itta hatafsaret, Liorah Lleucu HaMasovevet.

The 3 letter-numbers (חגי) of my wand's length plus the two letters mem (מם) of it's water-earth correspondence make the word m'chagim (מחגים) - "of the turning of the festivals" (Celtic and Jewish). Sod Ha-ibbur.

M'chagim has a gematria of 101 = יצא (issues forth)

A river issues forth from Eden to water the garden ... Bereshit 2:10

So much destiny within a wand picked up one day from the snow.

Rosh Chodesh In Gan Eden

ב' בחשון תשס"ח

Reading the news this evening, I see a massive fire struck a California tunnel over this rosh chodesh Shabbat when some initial collision caused a 15 truck pile-up. Foxnews reports:

The charred skeletons of at least a half-dozen big rigs peeked out of the tunnel's south end. At least one truck was carrying produce, and a smoldering load of cabbages lay scattered across the pavement.

The small detail of smoldering cabbages struck me as holding hidden information. Cabbages?

In Hebrew, cabbage is כרוב. Kruv (cherub) is also כרוב.

So He drove out the man; and He placed at the east of the garden of Eden the cherubim, and the flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way to the tree of life.
Bereshit 3:24

Here, at Walking On Fire, I think it is a benevolent warning from a kruv to someone who may live in the direction of that tragically destructive and life-taking fire.

Wrestling With Ruach Hashem

ג' בתשרי תשס"ח

In my entry Wrestling, Redeeming & Sanctifying Truth, I wrote of a mist which arose to seed the universe:

Simultaneous with the arising of the wrestling primal goddesses, I saw that the entire atmosphere became chock (חוק) full of dandelions releasing their seeds - so many that they looked like a whitish mist made of dandelion seeds being cast out from the place into the universe at large.

In addition to the dandelion symbolism I discussed in the linked post, the symbolism of the mist is significant.

In my vision, the mist arose from and hovered over the face of the waters where the primal goddesses wrestled toward unification.

"... and ruach Elohim hovered over the face of the waters." Bereshit 1:2

Jewish kabbalah teaches that this hovering ruach Elohim of Bereshit 1:2 is none other than the soul of messianic consciousness.

Mist in Hebrew is אד. A gathering of water (like a cauldron-pond) corresponds to the Hebrew letter mem ם. Together, the mist and the cauldron-pond form the word אדם (adam, in terms of mankind), a code for the 3 archetypal souls of mankind - Adam, David and Mashiach.

As discussed in previous entries, the two primal goddesses in my vision were wrestling in the cauldron-pond to bring forth a unified messianic consciousness. The mist of ruach Elohim hovered over them. The two primal goddesses in the cauldron-pond represent ruach Hashem wrestling toward unification of the Essential Divine Name and its expression into unified messianic consciousness.

Ezer knegdo phrases based on Bereshit 2:6.

"... there arose a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground."

"... there arose a mist from the waters, and seeded the whole face of the air" (see avir kadmon and it's relationship to mem/waters).

Ruach Hashem & The Birth Of An Anointing Prophet

Interestingly, the (ה) feminine vision of ruach Hashem (זה נבואה) occurred on second day of Rosh Hashanah of the year 5768 (see link for elucidation). The brit milah of Shmu'el ben Chanah occurred in a dream this morning, the shabbat immediately following Rosh Hashanah. Chanah is one of my Hebrew names and the birth and dedication of the prophet Shmu'el is in the haftarah for the first day of Rosh Hashanah.

Wrestling, Redeeming & Sanctifying Truth

ג' בתשרי תשס"ח

The afternoon of the first day of Rosh Hashanah, I performed a Jewitch tashlich. At that time I cast the ashes of rituals from the past year into a swampy green cauldron pond in the woods.

As I was waking this morning, I had a powerful mind-vision of two primal goddesses arising from the swampy pond waters (which were waist high on them) where I had performed my Jewitch tashlich. They were wrestling and they arose wrestling, as if the act of wrestling caused the "arising revelation".

Simultaneous with the arising of the wrestling primal goddesses, I saw that the entire atmosphere became chock (חוק) full of dandelions releasing their seeds - so many that they looked like a whitish mist made of dandelion seeds being cast out from the place into the universe at large.

Magickally, dandelions correspond to the Hecate and David archetypes, the planets Jupiter and Saturn, the Hebrew letter tav (through Jupiter), the Ogham letter ruis (through Saturn), the element of air, the channel from yesod to malchut, shabbat consciousness, and the powers of divination/nevuah, manifesting desires and spirit-calling.

Dandelion in Hebrew is שינן, from the shoresh שנן meaning "focus", "precise instructional tool", "directed speech", and "sharpen". Importantly, dandelion comes to "sharpen" the Hebrew letter shin שין, representing the consciousness of mashiach ben Yosef, into the consciousness of mashiach ben David.

With the wrestling of the two primal goddesses of the cauldron-pond, the two meshichim are becoming one.

Interestingly, the Ogham letter ruis corresponds to the color red (Esau, David, Adam) and is the thirteenth (אחד echad = one, with a gematria of 13) letter of the Ogham alphabet.

To mark this Rosh Hashanah vision, I've just created a new original incense recipe - Cauldron Of Creation.

Amplifying Divine Shabbat Consciousness

י"ט בניסן תשס"ז

Regarding preparation of the first batch of Feminine Clarity on Craftwork Of A Jewitch I wrote:

I prepared the first trial batch of Feminine Clarity ritual purification oil tonight under the planetary influence of Saturn and a waning gibbous moon 90% full (see link above for recipe).

Fifteen (יה) total drops of essential oil were used to make Feminine Clarity, where fifteen represents the concealed upper half of the Divine Name (the tetragrammaton). Fifteen has a digit sum of 6 (ו) and is brought down through gathering together the supplies and tools for making the blend into a focused location (my workspace) in time (last night). The act of actually making the blend further brings down feminine clarity into reality and forms the final hei (ה) of the tetragrammaton.

The five drops of cinnamon bark oil were quite by accident (the original intent was to use one drop) but I let the "accident" remain unaltered instead of adding other ingredients to make original proportions. Cinnamon powerfully raises spiritual vibrations, and given that this week is Pesach, the additional drops were likely an "accident" orchestrated by the Universe to raise spiritual vibrations by an expressive factor of five (hei, ה). There are five total "redemptions" in this blend. Consequently, this "accident" of clumsiness was no accident.

The waning gibbous banishes negativity and impurity through the channel of the letter tzadi (90 צ), where tzadi contains the power to actualize potential and to draw down divinity into the world.

Saturn governs Shabbat and is represented by the letter reish (ר). Reish represents clarification and drawing shabbat consciousness into the weekday.

Thus, the first batch of Feminine Clarity is characterized by rectified expressiveness (five, hei), clarity-clarification (reish), shabbat consciousness drawn down into normative awareness (reish) and complete redemption.

Later, I amended the entry to note that the vessel chosen to store this blend had also changed from the original plan. It is being stored in a ruby crystal bottle with a clear crystal stopper. Why?

Michael Braunstein writes regarding crystals:

What time is it? Look at your watch. Chances are, you just looked at a wristwatch that uses a quartz crystal to accurately clock the electrical flow of energy from the watch battery. Put on a CD. Listen to a favorite tune. You just activated a sound system that uses a laser to read tiny pits and flat spots on a plastic-coated metal disc. That laser uses a ruby crystal (that's why it's red) to amplify and organize the light energy that reflects off of those CDs. Did you drive to work today? The ignition system of your car likely uses a small silicon crystal chip to regulate the firing of the spark plugs of the engine. Listen to Otis XII? Your car radio uses a transistor made from silicon to amplify the sound. And your home or work computer? Intel Inside™? You bet. And what's it made from? A computer chip is a chip allright; a chip of silicon quartz crystal. Why do you think they call it Silicon Valley?

The point is, you are using crystals everyday and all day long. These crystals, in the form of computer chips, transistors, clocking devices, liquid crystal displays, etc., are all doing some basic things with energy. They are maintaining, changing, manipulating the characteristics of energy to perform tasks. They store, amplify, correct and control energy waves. Not so mysteriously either. It is, as it turns out, a natural property of crystals to be able to do that.

Plain and simple! If your laptop can store information on silicon quartz crystal reworked by Intel, then what makes you think it's impossible that a quartz crystal pendant might store the energy of a conflict at the gas station earlier in the day? Or an argument with your mom. Or a loving moment of romance with your girlfriend? Energy is energy; crystals is crystals.

Crystal transistors can amplify Eddie Van Halen's guitar to 140 decibels of pure grunge, (through the PA system -- not his amp -- which is a Marshall and uses tubes, not transistors -- a whole other column.) Then don't you think an amethyst crystal properly used can amplify the healing energy of your body?

Or the Divine Shabbat consciousnes focused into my blend called Feminine Clarity?

בונן, Blind Affirmation & Open Sesame

כ"ג בשבט תשס"ז

Yesterday afternoon at the grocery store, checking out the spice section for organic rosemary, my eye kept going back to the black sesame seeds. I kept trying to shake the inclination, as I hadn't investigated the correspondences to sesame. Consequently, to buy them would be buying them blind of any potential magickal use. Nevertheless, try as I might, I just had to have them. The inclination to purchase them won out over the inclination to ignore the inner curiosity which kept striking at my consciousness. So, I bought the black sesame seeds wondering what in the world I would ever use them for. I even put another item back to make the purchase, as I had a limited cash supply with me.

Of course, when I got home, I looked up sesame seeds. Interestingly, one folk name for sesame is bonin [1]. In Hebrew, bonin is בונן from the shoresh בנן meaning "understanding", "causing understanding" and "instructing" [2].

The attribute of understanding corresponds to both the sefirah Binah and to the world/universe of Tohu. Consequently, this "blind affirmation" caused me to understand that I am on the right track toward even greater understanding. Writes Mr. Cunningham regarding the folk history of sesame:

The infamous magickal command "open sesame!" refers to the plant's legendary powers to discover hidden treasures, reveal secret passageways, and open locked doors.

This fits well with my recent dream linked to hidden treasure (where black corresponds to the aspect of hidden essence), an older mystical dream revealing a secret passageway (wormhole), and an even older poem about David's secret door.

I plan to open my new sealed jar of black sesame seeds during the transcendental void course of the moon February 17, the date of the Dark Moon and a day of shabbat.

open sesame! ...

Barley - Evidence Of Reconnection

ז' שבט ה'תשס"ז

Note that today's Hebrew date rests like a double shabbat, a shabbat shabbaton, and like the double edges of a witch's athame, between two letters zayin (ז ... ז).

The second product of the Land that we traditionally eat during Tu B'Shevat is barley. The word in Devarim 8:8 is ושׂערה meaning "and barley", where the first [1] letter is a vav (ו) of connection called a vav hachibur. This is the vav which reconnects the letter yod to the letter chet in the word wheat (חיטה) as discussed in my previous entry, Wheat - From Galut To Geulah (from exile to redemption).

Evidence for this reconnection is found in the root שׂער of the word for barley, which implies a strong movement from within [2]. The first letter of the root is sin ("s" sound) as opposed to shin ("sh" sound), with a nikud (dot) over the left pillar as opposed to the right pillar. Consequently, we can see that the movement manifests through action of the feminine left emanation.

What is this movement? It is the movement described in Sefer Yetzirah 1:6 and 6:1 as a stormwind, the se'arah. Ruach se'arah [3] is a klipah (as I've distinguished previously here, Sufah and Se'arah), in contradistinction to ruach hakodesh or divine inspiration. Like its ezer knegdo, the shoresh "against it" (שרע), it implies stretching and extending in response to a strong inner movement. In other words, it is deliberate, measured, active work. This klipah gives the soul something to push and pull against enabling growth. As a yetziratic "agitating wind" meant to loosen distorted complexes in the soul for removal and/or reconstruction, ruach se'arah is neither as powerful nor as potentially destructive as Ruach HaShem. Ruach se'arah results when the human moves toward the divine. Ruach HaShem results when the divine bestows upon the human. Consequently, the powerful presence of the "chaotic dynamic" described here is evidence that the reconnection has been established.

In my own life, this dynamic is discussed most notably here (Soul Of A Bat Kohen) and here (Modah Ani).

Consecrating My Athame

כ"ח טבת ה'תשס"ז

Tonight is the esbat of the Dark Moon. In contrast to Rosh Chodesh, which notes the first sliver of silvery light sighted each month, the Dark Moon is fully within the Shadow of Night. Light represents activity. Darkness represents rest. In other words, while Rosh Chodesh celebrates rebirth, the Dark Moon rests symbolically as a tzelem Elohim within the Dark Essence of Ein Sof.

Consequently, with the Light resting within the completely Dark Essence of Ein Sof, the Dark Moon esbat represents a shabbat of the moon. The moon generally corresponds to soul power of Emet (אמת truth) and to the sefirah Yesod (יסוד foundation). Thus, this esbat of Tevet, my athame will be infused with the Essential Foundation of Truth and the power of shabbat consciousness.

The esbat nocturnal ritual (performed surrounding midnight):

Complete steps 1, and 3 as found in Jewitch Shabbat Ritual.

Set up altar to basically include a central black taper candle standing upon a pentagram tile, a red pomegranate votive candle, and an incense blend [2] prepared with a teardrop within cauldron censer.

Light black taper (projective energy), saying:

Beruchah at Shechinah HaShem Chai, malchat shel Shabbat v'Esbat b'laylah, who transforms darkness into brilliance.

Use flame from the taper to light pomegranate votive (receptive energy) candle, saying:

Beruchah at Shechinah HaShem Chai, ruach shel Shabbat v'Esbat b'laylah, move through the Shadow of Night and be One with the Light.

Use flame from the taper to light the incense, saying:

Blessed are You Shechinah Acknowledger of Life, ruler of the universe, who has gifted me with a portion of Truth.

Beruchah at Shechinah HaShem Chai, malkat ha'olam, she'natnah li chemdat emet.

Wipe down both sides of the blade of the athame with a magnet.

Rinse with consecrated water [1]. Don't wipe dry.

Pass athame through incense smoke, saying:

ישמך אלהים השם חיי כאמת וחנה
Y'simech Elohim HaShem Chai k'Emet v'Chanah.

May the Goddess who acknowledges life make you as truth and favor.

Go outside and under the Dark Moon, cast the circle (step 7 here) using the index and middle fingers of the right hand.

Hold athame straight up with both hands directly over the crown of the head, saying:

With the Dance of Holy Darkness, I dedicate, consecrate, awaken, charge and infuse you.

Encircling the tip deosil overhead 8 times, saying each time:

ברוך שם כבוד מלכותה לעולם ועד
Baruch shem kevod malchutah le'olam va'ed.

Blessed is the Glorious Name, Her Kingdom stands forever and ever.

Following the eighth blessing, bring the athame parallel to the heart, point up, saying:

אמן
Amen.

Turning athame, point down, saying:

So mote it be.

Draw a pentagram invoking earth into the soil. Wipe off any dirt from the tip of the blade with the middle fingers, using the left middle finger for one side and the right middle finger for the other.

Kiss both sides of the blade near the middle and the hilt.

Bring the athame inside and place on the altar, saying:

With the Divine Shadow be embraced. So mote it be.

Allow candles and incense to burn themselves out. Leave up circle of protection. Wrap athame in black cloth and store with altar tools after the flames and incense have become dark.

Footnotes:

[1] Banished of negativity and blessed.

[2] Dragon's blood, frankincence, myrrh, pinch of salt, drop of vanilla oil, drop of olive oil, drop of red wine.

Circle Name Of Shabbat Consciousness

In addition to my Hebrew names, my circle name [1] shall I hereby join to them.

Lleucu, pronounced "Lly-kee" (i.e. Lley-kee) is a Celtic/Welsh name meaning "light". As "Liorah" means "light to me", Lleucu marks its reception. It is the name of a true mekubal.

Transliterated into Hebrew letters, Lleucu ללאכו (where א is vowelized with tzere) comes from the root (shoresh) לאך, meaning "accomplishing work", "messenger" and "angel". [2] This root is found in derivation in Bereshit 2:2 -

"And on the seventh day God finished His work which He had made; and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made."

ויכל אל הים ביום השביעי, מלאכתו אשר עשה; וישבת ביום השביעי, מכל-מלאכתו אשר עשה

Lleucu ללאכו is my name of Shabbat consciousness. ללאכו has a gematria of 87 (see Akvah). It is also the root לאך surrounded by the letters ל"ו (see lamedvavnik).
