A Cherub Sans Sword

In follow-up to my previous entry (Bestowing Abundance), where I discussed the appearance of the shefa of Yesod surrounding this evening's supermoon full moon, it should be also noted (as Wiki informs us) that "the archangel of this sphere [Yesod] is Gabriel, and the Cherubim is the Angelic order." In Jewish mystical tradition (as Mystical paths informs us), the Cherubim are associated with the revolving sword of consciousness which prevents re-entrance into the Garden of Eden:

The sword that prevents us entering freely into our own deeper levels of concentration and understanding is created and strengthened by misdemeanour, moral or religious errors. Thus, conversely, moral purity, as described by the Torah and Masters, can lessen or even remove this sword.

Importantly, according to the Zohar (as Kabbalah Online informs us), the magickal Hebrew letter associated with a sword of the Cherubim, that is, the sword of judgment, is the Hebrew letter vav (ו):

The vav is the body of the sword, the six directions of the world ...

The power which showed its face in my world tonight was the hand of the Cherubim (as opposed to the sword of the Cherubim).

The Encyclopedia of Angels informs us about the hands of the Cherubim:

Their hands are under their wings and their feet are covered by their wings; they have horns of glory upon their heads.

Sounds alot my artistic photographic rendition of tonight's supermoon (see picture) - I've got got a cherub here tonight sans sword.

Darkness & Light in Witchcraft & Kabbalah

ה׳ בשבט תשע"ב
Imbolgen 7
Rowan 9

Through my Etsy shoppe (WITCHCRAFTS Artisan Alchemy™), I often receive inquiries regarding magic and metaphysical concepts. One I recently received sought an understanding of darkness and evil. I will share my response to that inquiry here with my blog friends as well - In my tradition, darkness does not equal evil. There is good in both darkness and light, just as there is banefulness in both light and darkness. The goal of my tradition is to clarify and raise both the light and the darkness to a higher vibration (so to speak) and to transform both forms together into an evolved energy that is greater than either light or darkness as each exists alone (each at their own untransformed level). Yes, it is dangerous to embrace one's darkness, but it can be equally dangerous to become unbalanced with light in an effort to strangle the darkness. One good writer who explains the good/baneful polarities of both darkness and light is Konstatinos. Here is a link to his book Nocturnal Witchcraft: Magick After Dark (which discusses these ideas about darkness and light in traditional Witchcraft) for more information.

Sacred Magic - Awen and the Seal of Solomon

כ״א בכסלו תשע"ב
Shamash 23

My design of a two Celtic Druidic Awen symbols (one upward, one downward) which when brought together, form the mystical magical Seal of Solomon. Earth, Air, Fire, Water, Spirit, Goddess-Consciousness.

It is written in The Pillars of Tubal Cain [by Nigel Jackson and Michael Howard who posit that *Solomon's Temple was constructed as a Goddess Shrine*], "It is said that the temple [of Solomon] was not built by human hands because allegedly a mysterious worm or serpent-like creature called the Shamir carved out and cut the stones. Other stories say that Solomon enlisted supernatural help to build it in the form of elemental servitors he conjured using his powers as a magician."

Interestingly, about 15 years ago, I wrote a mystic poem about the *Shamir*. Like my earlier poems, this one also describes one of my preincarnate memories of truly magical, experiential consciousness.

SHAMIR, DI-VISIONS OF THE NIGHT

first rhythms ever plunge, eternal hosts driven into life
drawing through a field of topographic brilliance
where judgment lovingly flows, churning out whole stones
resting against asymmetries trying, like diamonds in chaos
proto-perception foams, over annihilating operations
and from it, dark bursts of lucidity finely entwine
coarse grains of almost something, almost yet sufficient
the silent rush of yet nothing slides, wildly as percolating pivots
diligently thread through it, casting clarity
upon myriads, hard pauses startle into vision
projecting arrays without mass, strings of confluency
impressing discovery, a shadowy tail-end lingers
between depths of opposite observation
iterating embraces of many meanings like quasi-quanta
gathering functions about the head and, and
spinning spectra, pushing forward, yearning toward home
not knowing, yet only knowing
as some featureless reach edging edges stretches out
the magnetic sweet dance
where divisions collapse like crystal caves
softly sprinkling the belly of the night divine
with bytes of thoughtbare kisses
extending the glorious field of apprehension

Shamir in the magical Hebrew alphabet is a word deriving from the root שמר which means generically to protect and to distance from danger. The root drawn out into a word specifically meaning "divisons of the night" is found in the ancient Hebrew sacred book of Exodus [14:24], where it is written "and it came to pass in the DIVISIONS OF THE NIGHT, that Deity looked forth ..." Consequently, taking all this together, we can easily see that SHAMIR indeed pertains Goddess consciousness and to the Creative Force of AWEN She bestows.

The Hebrew correspondence to Celtic AWEN is HASHRA'AH.

Mysteries of Kohelet and Traditional Witchcraft

ט״ז בכסלו תשע"ב
Shamash 18

That which has been is that which shall be, and that which has been done is that which shall be done; and there is nothing new under the sun. [from the ancient Hebrew Wisdom Literature, Kohelet 1:9]

In follow-up note to my previous two entries (Karma and Reincarnation in Traditional Witchcraft and Matzah Consciousness), Kabbalah teaches (Anthony Kosinec lecture) that “there is nothing new under the sun,” and that:

any event that will occur in our world, is not existence from absence, but rather existence from existence. It is an entity that has stripped off its former shape, and taken on another, different from the first

in the melting pot of Ceridwen's Cauldron as taught similarly in Traditional Witchcraft. Kabbalah also teaches that:

... the essence is called “the basis.” It is called “Matza.” It is the essential, basic material that we are created from. It is something that the Creator made from nothing; it is existence from non-existence, something from nothing. That essence, that Matza or basis, which is pure information ... we see that the essence is not controlled in any way by the dressing. It’s something that can dress or undress into new forms of life. Now, if we can begin to see that same system working in regards to our level then we can begin to see what is occurring and to be able to direct what is occurring [see A Stable Combination], we may be able to find a point by which we actually have some kind of choice in the process. This basis, this Matza, consists of the origin and the mentality of all of our ancestors ...

and from here we are intimately and essentially linked to, and may access all the Knowledge, Experience and Wisdom of our Ancestors.

Matzah Consciousness

ט״ז בכסלו תשע"ב
Shamash 18

In follow up to my previous post discussing the teachings of Traditional Witchcraft on subjects such as karma and reincarnation (which differ from the beliefs of many if not most neo-Pagans), here is a pentalpha of five poems (selected from many) I wrote (probably about 15 or more years ago during a concentrated Bardic/Psalmist phase upon my path as a magically inclined witch mystic) which relate to the Celtic idea (and teaching of Traditional Witchcraft) of climbing out of the Cauldron of Ceridwen and to being a Being WHOLE of CONSCIOUSNESS. Notably and relevant to my path as a Traditional Witch, these poems support the idea that the consciousness making up me in the life I am currently experiencing is a Stably Whole combination of elemental consciousness. Moreover, the stable unique elemental consciousness of being making up me indeed is so stable, IT REMEMBERS it's own coming together as an individual, namely me, even while existing within the Cauldron of Ceridwen. Also importantly, my experiences of memory further support that **I** in a state of Pure Wholistic Consciousness participated in the unique creation of my own personal individuality. I share these poems and my experiences to share the reality and Truth of the Teaching of Traditional Witchcraft:

A STABLE COMBINATION (a preincarnate memory of existence, originally published under the title A DANCE OF OUTLIERS)

asymmetries oscillating iterating disequilibrium
rushing in circuits of fluctuation imperfectly, perfect!
exotic attractors embedding the spinning critical magnetism
stretching out and considering, yet thoughtbare
projecting and collapsing, gathering with distance, yet near
trying and trying in motionless motion
extending apprehension, passing over, passing under, all around
tying knots of charged connection binding quanta of stops
concentrating conjunctions, strengthening two by two, yes and no
drawing out distinctions of uniqueness, outliers in some quantum time
establishing eccentricities, coagulating singularities
against the rhythm, making discretions
wavelets of indeterminate interval, itty bytes
contracting, constructing, expanding the matrix of translation
reproducing intensity superposing virtual phases of doing ... what
stringing a river of elucidating brilliance responding
to the essential siren current of the one opposite reflection
intercalating delights, perturbing stones of memory
driving the tug dancing between ignorance and knowing
exchanging a mystery, mysterious mysterious, inside out
curling across fields, and between, from some side
end against end, propagating the dynamic
wrestling the source toward convergence
in the matter

CAULDRON CONSCIOUSNESS (a preincarnate memory of existence, originally published under the title CAULDRON)

forged without calculation
reverberating with eternal essence, the lifeforce
brewing namelessly under the nostrils, purifying recognition
some thoughtbare combination, a tasty transformation
within a witch's cauldron, over colorless flames darkly
simmering a stew of primeval mysteries
including everything, yet nothing yet
percolating in silence, an utterly female science
patiently pivoting tongs stirring that connection
deliciously delightful
singly unique
sustaining completely, from the timeless time to come
turning history
without equivocation

ESSENTIAL AND TRUE (a preincarnate memory of existence, originally published under the title METAMORPHOSIS)

immutable
cast through a river of fire
eternally reverberating impressions orienting
into time
something essential, something true
blended together as one
igniting with life
a metamorphosis divine
some celestial darkness into endless light

CREATURE OF THE NIGHT ETERNAL (a preincarnate memory of existence)

deep deep complete
creature of the night eternal
a touch divine, a bit insane, off the edge
plunging into a cutting clarity
relentless, wild
stark and undistorted
without echo, raw tradition
a serpent song, a scorpion tale
thirsting inside out, like a finger of the endless
casting kisses
from the heart of the dark

DARK DIVINE (a preincarnate memory of existence)

neverending streams
of some humble brilliance
expressing a human tale
of the dark divine
now
here
as wonders run to life
through this tapestry of night casting kisses
of endless light
oh! how the heights envy
the depths of darkness breathing with the glory
of one perfect peace

Karma & Reincarnation in Traditional Witchcraft

ט״ז בכסלו תשע"ב
Shamash 18

Do we truly get back what we give? Does what goes around truly come around? It is very self-evident in the experience for most of us that the answer to these questions is not necessarily or simply - not the way you might think. For the Traditional Witch, the truth rests betwixt the horns (of enlightenment). Peter Paddon writes (A Grimoire for Modern Cunningfolk):

For the average neo-Pagan or Wiccan ... karma is about what goes around comes around [karma] ... Karma and reincarnation in the mind of the average neo-Pagan are closely aligned, because karma is said to extend beyond this lifetime and into the next. You can be working off a karmic debt from a previous lifetime in this one ...

But are these beliefs as held by the average neo-Pagan true? Not according to Traditional Witchcraft. As Peter Paddon again informs us, Traditional Witchcraft teaches:

We don't all get the right to reincarnate ... [reincarnation] is alot more complicated than that [than as the average neo-Pagan believes]. The concept is that when we die, the essence of who we are and what we are gets basically put into this huge melting pot, and becomes part of a cosmic soup from which ladles of new humanity are poured forth. And so, whilst we do get to come back, we don't get to come back as a single entity ... we get recycled ... this ties in to very well what the Celts believed. There is alot of evidence to show that the Brythonic Celts of Wales especially [my (Liorah Lleucu) ancestors, BTW] had this concept of the Cauldron of Ceridwen where we all go back into the cauldron when we die, and it's only the most elite and special people - who have earned the right to reincarnate as whole entities - who are able to climb out unscathed from the cauldron. Everyone else gets boiled down into the soup and recycled. This is really an important thing to me. It's a very key part of the Tradition I follow, the concept of the Mighty Dead. They end up becoming the great teachers, the great bards, the great characters of history and mythology. The basic idea about the soup is that all these components get pulled out in different combinations, and it's, if you like, the powers that be are looking for stable combinations. And when a combination is stable, it creates the scenario where that person is able to qualify to become one of the Mighty Dead ... Now, this then enables these people who've managed to retain their INTEGRITY [emphasis added] to come back as themselves for several lives and to be great teachers ...

So, do we truly get what we give? and does what goes around truly come around?

Traditional Witches are not governed by a moral code such as the Wiccan Rede or by the average concept of karma. In contradistinction to the average neo-Pagan, Traditional Witches are driven to ACT ETHICALLY and to CHEAT FATE (which for many may ultimately be to be boiled down in the cauldron) and to ask ourselves - am I willing to pay the coin for the action I am about to do? In this way, we are driven to maintain our INTEGRITY as whole Being of Consciousness. Taken together, all this clearly implies that if we give love (or anything else we may give), we may not necessarily get love (or anything else we may give) in return. Traditional Witches do not act in order to get back what we give. Traditional Witches choose to act with integrity, to take responsibility for any action taken and to pay the coin for any mistakes we may make along the way - ultimately, if we act without integrity and with malice, the coin we may be ultimately charged is to be found an unstable entity of consciousness and without the ability to climb out of Ceridwen's cauldron into a new life WHOLE.

Trapped By Enchantment

כ״ז בסיון תשע"א
Alban Heruin 29

As a Jewitch, I am often asked what is the critical difference between magic and mysticism? and how can I resolve practicing witchcraft against the Torah's seeming prohibition on witchcraft with the claim that I am a Torah observant Jew?

There is a chapter in a book by Adin Steinsaltz (The Strife of the Spirit) which discusses the traditional rabbinic view of magic and mysticism, between that prohibited by Torah and that allowed by Torah. In this chapter, Rabbi Steinsaltz explains that the critical difference between Torah-prohibited magic and Torah-allowed magic all comes down to who does it and from what level the power comes. Engaging in magical pursuits, from a rabbinic perspective, is dangerous until one reaches a certain "madreiga" or spiritual level of developmental maturity. Prior to attaining that level, the rabbis believe that a person can become fascinated with power (that is, trapped by enchantment) in such a way that a person's continued spiritual development is impeded. The rabbis recognize that oftentimes many of the powers associated with witchcraft naturally unfold as one evolves spiritually, but also recognize that powers may also unfold prematurely leading to a detrimental enchantment with power. In other words, a person is liable to become trapped by an enchantment with the very real power released through magical-mystical practices such that he or she becomes confused and deadlocked spiritually. For this reason, rabbinic tradition discourages magical/mystical pursuits, and in my opinion, has misled laypeople as to what the Torah actually teaches about magic and mysticism. Interestingly, the situation in traditional rabbinic Judaism today suggests that many rabbis are indeed confused spiritually and trapped by an enchantment with power.

Enchantment of a whole group of people is not unheard of in the occult mysteries. In Celtic magical-mystical tradition, the story of a whole city's enchantment is told in the first branch of the Mabinogion in the tale known as The Enchantment of Dyfed. In consequence to enchantment, except for four individuals, the lives of all of the city's inhabitants became suspended. In other words, they became spiritually deadlocked not too unlike rabbinic Judaism today.

We cannot always judge what is permitted and what is prohibited by the labels we put on practices. Sometimes we can only make a proper judgement as to what is prohibited and what is allowed by its effect upon us.

I note as an interesting side observation - as with the Judaic tale of the Exodus, the number four figures prominently in the Celtic tale of Dyfed as well.

New Chapter with the Avalonian Tradition

כ״ג בכסלו תשע"א
Shamash 26

I'm really excited to begin this new chapter in my life. Readers of my blogs may see some design changes (starting today) as I reclaim and flesh out my ancient pagan Celtic heritage in a more deliberate and focused manner than I have in the past.

Witchcraft has brought spiritual healing into my tattered life over the past several years, and now the specific Goddess focused Avalonian Tradition of Witchcraft will bring healing out even more fully. While I recognize the parallel importance of a Divine Masculine path, the path of the Divine Feminine is the way for me. Blessed be my Ancestors for bringing me to this day.

In Living Magic

ט״ז באלול תש"ע
Belz 17

Last night, following creating CRYSTAL VISIONS Scrying and Divination Incense under the Full Moon (ב) during the planetary hour of Jupiter (ת), I dreamt.

After returning home from checking on another woman's well being, I was in my house (which was also my place of business) sweeping my room (like witches do). My eye was caught by a movement of light and dark. I looked up toward the window. Even though bright natural sunlight filled the room inside, between the cracked open curtains at the window, I saw that it was completely jet black outside. It was so black outside there was a total absence of light, like reverse light - thick, opaque, impenetrable from the outside. It wasn't frightening at all. In fact, I felt completely protected inside by it - it surrounded my room, my light inside the room and me as I swept and went about my business in peace.

I woke up.

As the photo demonstrated light-capture through the craft item and my dream further revealed it's connection to reality, it's clear that my handmade ritual incenses and other witchcrafts are not just crafty creations but are truly magical tools in communication with a unified multiverse.

The Healing Feeling Of Wholeness

כ״ד באייר תש"ע
Annwyn 25

A new friend of mine asked me to elaborate on a statement written earlier today in my entry, A Year To Reveal All Good - "deep clinical depression (which discovering Witchcraft relieved in me - thank Goddess!)"

As I explained in my response to Cakes4thequeen, I'm not sure I know how to analyze it, but to say that it happened. My depression was psychologically severe. I had alienated many people during the course of it. For me, depression wasn't just a case of being sad, but a very real emotional disability.

The clinical depression really came upon me in full force in the mid 1990's and got progressively worse as I began to actively practice Kabbalah, the magical-mystical form of Judaism. The way I see it now is that the depression was directly related to the evolution of my spiritual pathworking - the Dark Goddess moving in me, in fact. I also think that the severity of my depression was proportionate in some manner to depth and intensity of my spiritual practice, even though in hindsight I see that the Kabbalistic practice alone without the integral incorporation of Witchcraft into it was imbalanced in me as a woman. Active spiritual pathworking naturally magnifies any areas of psycho-spiritual imbalance. I am a Witch, and the Witch in me will not, can not, be denied.

Finding Witchcraft, acknowledging the Dark Goddess in me, and evolving my own Divine Feminine reality brought critical balance into my life. In natural consequence to the balance Witchcraft brought me, my depression naturally got better and finally, gave way to joy. There is nothing quite like feeling whole - it heals.

The Utterly Bewitched Talmud

ט' באייר תש"ע
Annwyn 10

In follow up to my previous post - Jump, The Ibbur And The Witch's Secret Tool - Pandora gave us her preferred interpretation of JT Kiddushin 4 (66c) and her prefered paraphrase of the word "best":

May I add that the full quote is in JT Kiddushin 4 (66c): "R. Simeon bar Yohai learned: "The best of heathens - kill him; the best of snakes - smash its skull; the best of women - is filled with witchcraft; praised be he who fulfills the will of the Place" (i.e., of God, who is omnipresent, or in every place at the same time).

The term "best" refers more to the "majority" of women, not that they were THE BEST! So, Shimeon bar Yochai was not necessarily singing the praises of women in this context.

Interestingly, we see that even using Pandora's own interpretation and paraphrase (which differs from my own), that the Talmud is completely and tellingly unable to "kill" or "smash" the "best of women" who is filled with witchcraft. Unlike with heathens and snakes, all the Talmud is able to utter in response to such a witchy woman is to sing the praises of the Divine. Consequently, we can see that, even using Pandora's interpretation and paraphrase, the Talmud is utterly bewitched! Contrary to Pandora's understanding, Shimeon bar Yochai is indeed singing the praises of witchy women!

A Witches' Blessed Full Moon Purimfest

י'ד באדר תש"ע
Keowulf 16

Today is both the Full Moon (as observed in the practice of Celtic Witchcraft) and Purim (as observed in the practice of Jewish Kabbalah). In practical observance of both of these entwined magical times, this weekend's personally entwined (from The Witch's Hat, the Hebrew 3-letter root צנף also means 'entwining') entries:

On High And Low Styles Of Magical Practice

י'ד באדר תש"ע
Keowulf 16

Treasach (Witchvox) of MisticalAcScents writes on some of the commonly understood differences between 'high' and 'low' magical styles of practice:

High magic is usually the term for what the wizards do. It's rather like a Catholic mass [or any other highly hierarchal ceremonial ritual], with all the ritual words in a sacred language, pomp and finery, ordained divine conduits, and strict adherence to detail. The power in high magic comes from without... the great universal energy that is harnessed by the correct performance of the ritual itself, with some measure from the performer(s), but not much. They are mostly lent energy for the spell, which is why there is such an emphasis on hierarchy in high magic. It is vital that the ceremony be followed exactly with the correct people taking care of their assigned functions. The more powerful the spell, the less room for error.

The big draw for this kind of magic is that it offers a great deal of power in a relatively short period of time, but with a corresponding danger level as you ascend. The goal is to eventually control and submit the entire Universe.

Low magic is usually what witches do. Its goal is to make you one with the Universe, and therefore blissful, content, wise, with all your needs provided for. To unleash and accept your Goddess within, which is the same as the Goddess without, by giving full release to your Goddess self. This means that much attention is paid to your own instinct and the answers that are right for you, as your Goddess cannot ever be wrong, you just have to get better at hearing her. So our spells are more like meditation, sometimes with helpful symbols or foci like incense, statues, herbs, and other paraphernalia.

Most experienced witches don't bother with it, however, unless we are trying to work on something much harder than usual. To effect change in the Universe, we try to use the Butterfly effect, to tug on the string of the Great Weave that will most affect the change we want. In trying to find the string, we learn how the Universe works and so increase our wisdom.

Most women choose the style of Low magic because it is more like their usual style of being: persuading and joining, rather than controlling.

I'm sure most of you have heard of the phrase "As above, so below". Only one interpretation is rendered as "As in Heaven, so it happens down here." Another, more widely used and helpful meaning is "Change or events Outside affect the Internal, and vise versa." 'High' in the case of magic means 'external', 'low' means 'internal'. ONLY when hierarchy becomes so predominate in this culture, and High implies more powerful, and consequently more male, does High and Low magic take on some connotations that some people today take umbrage with. It's not a personal insult to our style.

Now. When was the last time any of you enslaved a demon, deity, or angel to unwillingly do your bidding? How about binding your local ghosts, fairies, and spirits as your personal gophers? I don't remember when it was that I forced the dead to come back in an unquiet rest to speak about the secrets of the Universe... High magic involves the use of formula and ritual to achieve just such dog collars on the Powers of the Universe.

I've seen a young wizard tell me that Hunters from the sprit world are stalking him, and we did a little complex ritual around a lamppost to confuse them so they can't follow. I mean, I never saw them, but that doesn't mean they weren't there, so I won't doubt his word. Much. But I'll tell you. I've never done anything in my magic work to invoke their wrath in the first place.

I am not comparing levels of power here. A very experienced or instinctive witch who is close to the Warp and Weft of the Universe can indeed stop a storm with a thought. Unfortunately, that takes a great deal of Enlightenment to reach that point, so most of us don't get there in a hurry, if ever. Now, it takes a wizard of far less experience, personal power, and self-mastery to achieve the same ends by going through the rigmarole to capture the power of the Storm God and just fire away or let Him do the work. It's not easy, but it's a hellova lot easier than becoming one with the Forces of a Hurricane and personally knowing on an unconscious level what strings to pull.

With these kind of benefits attached to High magic, including the hierarchy, the feeling of mastery and the practice of invincibility, it's no wonder that most wizards are men. But there is no such thing as a free lunch. Most powers that are so bound in High magic are not only interested in becoming Unbound as soon as possible, they would also like to wreak revenge on the mortals who dared to commit such an atrocity.

Which is why my little wizard friend was almost PROUD at the Things following him. The quality of a wizard is told by the quality of his enemies, after all...

We can understand then that with 'high magic,' great power may indeed be harnessed by the practitioner no matter the level of personal enlightenment or development into a Sacred Unity with the Universe. With the path of McMagic however, comes the possibility of unleashing great danger.

In contradistinction to the methods of many 'high magic' practitioners, most 'low magic' practitioners are less focused on attaining quick McPower and more focused on attaining the enlightnment necessary for working with the Universe instead of against Her. As Treasach has implied in her writing, few witches have demons and destructive angels or spirits chasing after us. More likely, many witches have had the experience where 'demons', 'angels' and Nature spirits of all kinds, in fact, are our most ardent and unbidden willing protectors.

The Secret Chord

ט' בתשרי תש"ע
Blodlessing 10

In follow-up to earlier entries (Heikhalot, The Nine-Tenths Gate and Shabbat Proclamation - Time Is Gold), my facebook friend Jacek OSTROWSKI shared this treasure with me:

Gathered from the web, the full and complete lyrics to a perfectly imperfect song, Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen:

[[ Now, I've heard there was a secret chord
That David played, and it pleased the Lord.
But you don't really care for music, do you?
It goes like this,
The fourth, the fifth
The minor fall, the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah.

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Your faith was strong but you needed proof.
You saw her bathing on the roof,
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you.
She tied you
To a kitchen chair.
She broke your throne, and she cut your hair,
And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah.

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

You say I took the name in vain.
I don't even know the name.
But if I did, well really, what's it to you?
There's a blaze of light
In every word.
It doesn't matter which you heard,
The holy or the broken Hallelujah.

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah ]]

Baby, I've been here before.
I know this room, I walk this floor.
I used to live alone before I knew you.
Yeah, I've seen your flag on the marble arch,
But listen love, love is not some kind of victory march,
No, it's a cold and it's a very broken Hallelujah.

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah ... {Hallelujah}

There was a time when you let me know
What's really going on below.
Ah, but now you never show it to me, do you?
And remember when I moved in you,
The holy dove, she was moving too,
Yes, and every single breath that we drew was Hallelujah.

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Maybe there's a God above,
As for me, all I ever seem to learn from love
Is how to shoot at someone who outdrew you.
Yeah, but it's not a complaint that you hear tonight,
It's not the laughter of someone who's claims to have seen the light,
No, it's a cold and it's a very lonely Hallelujah.

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

I did my best, it wasn't much
but I couldn't feel, so I learned to touch.
I've told the truth, I didn't come all this way to fool you.
Yeah, and even though
It all went wrong
I'll stand right here before the Lord of Song
With nothing on my tongue but Hallelujah.

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

I Am My Craft

י'ח באלול תשס״ט
Belz 19

When anyone asks me how long I have been a witch or how long I have been studying my craft, there really is no answer in time that is truly accurate. I am my craft.

There are so many synchronous events clearly, naturally and seamlessly apparent in my life now, I see - to say that the Universe and I are in constant conversation and timeless communication would not be inaccurate. Neither would it be inaccurate to say that I am the Universe. There is no separation. There never has been and never will be.

The Deeper Pagan Mystery Of YHVH

י"א אייר תשס"ט
Annwn 12

According to Jewish Kabbalah, the four-letter name of God, namely YHVH (יהוה) comes from the root הוה meaning to exist, to bring into being, and to constitute.

Yet before YHVH of the Hebrew tradition there is the Goddess Iahu of pagan Sumerian tradition. Iahu in Hebrew is YAHV (יאהו), a name which translates to "his becoming". In other words, Goddess Iahu is the origin of his becoming - namely, the becoming of YHVH.

Thus, the Hebrew letters reveal the secret - the pagan Sumerian Goddess-Name Iahu is a deeper mystery and the source of the God-Name YHVH whose name means "bring into being". Importantly, from She YHVH becomes to bring into being.

In Sumerian, Iahu translates as "Exalted Dove."

Without pagan Iahu, there is no becoming of YHVH to bring into being.

Brucha at Iahu Yah Elohaynu ruach ha-olam, shehehcheyahnu vekiyimanu vehegianu lazman hazeh.

Blessed are You, Origin of all creative spirits in nature, the Great Spirit of the Universe who has kept us alive, and sustained us, and enabled us to reach this moment.

Experience Goddess Centered Kabbalah

Introducing the newest addition to my library - Between The Worlds, Witchcraft and the Tree of Life by Stuart Myers.

From back cover - "Witches can now reclaim the Qabalah as a powerful system of magick that readily fits into the practice of Wicca. Drawing upon the fragments of Pagan Qabalah and inspired by the early Hebrew peoples who guided their lives by the cycles of the Moon and Sun, Between The Worlds returns the Qabalah of the Queen of Heaven to the world from out of the shadows of the patriarchy."

See my next post on Divine Feminine Iahu (יאהו), the Sumerian origin of YHVH (יהוה)!

Redeeming The Ancestors

כ'ט ניסן תשס"ט
Raven 29

In follow-up to my dream The End Of Innocence, Witchcraft teaches that part of our pathwork is to redeem the errors and pain of our ancestors. From my dream:

The woman was not stricken because her husband had cheated, as men did in those days because women were not 'actualized equals' and couldn't keep up.

No! I reject this thinking to the honor of my ancestress. May her soul be blessed.
