Myrrh, My Totem Resin

י״ז בתמוז תשע"א
Faunus 19

In follow-up to my previous post (Confronting Demons Starting Years Ago), I note that from the shoresh מור is also derived the word for myrrh (מֹר), making myrrh my totem resin, so to speak. Significantly, myrrh is also the totem resin of Goddess/the Sacred Feminine in Celtic Paganism and Witchcraft.

Sovereignty and Mystical Feline Power

Keowulf 28

In follow-up to my newest entry on my shoppe blog, WITCHCRAFTS by Liorah Lleucu, on which was introduced the newest addition to my luxury Morgen Collection of Avalonian ritual anointing oils, SOVEREIGNTY, I have an interesting synchronous annoucement to share with my friends and readers - my youngest son's cat had kittens, nine of them, like nine little Morgen kitties! Oh, the utter magic in it!

The Five Ladies of Avalon In My Life

י״ב בטבת תשע"א
Grael 15

In follow-up to my previous several entries, as my descent to the uplifting Tor and confrontation with my Ancestors are linked to Avalonian Ladies Rhiannon and Ceridwen, respectively, and as Lady Arianrhod emerged (following descent, uplifting and confrontation) as I have lived and do live my life continually like Lady Blodeuwedd, daring to be true to myself and rejecting to remain within the confining expectations of others, like Lady Branwen, integration issues forth (as described in The Tribes of my Soul).

The Truth Inside

כ״ט בתמוז תש"ע
Lughnasadh 1

Excerpt of the lyrics from Within Temptation's Stand My Ground:

Stand My Ground.
I won't give in
No more denying, I gotta face it
Won't close my eyes and hide the truth inside
If I don't make it, someone else will
Stand My Ground.

Vardlokkur

י׳ בתמוז תש"ע
Faunus 11

Last night in the middle of the night a storm blew out our power for five hours. But, my alarm clock is battery-operated, so I woke up anyway. After being out for five hours, just as it was time to stop hitting the snooze button and to actually get up, the power came back on. I got up. And wobbled to the bathroom, feeling ill and exhausted.

Yuck, there was no way I would make it through the day feeling like I did - power or no power. The power coming back on just didn't entice me to disregard what my body was telling me. I went back to bed and promptly fell back asleep. I slept until nearly noon - and woke up feeling so much better. It is truly amazing the miracles enough rest can work on a body. I must've really needed some.

Later this afternoon, I drew a magic rune from the bag which rests within my altar space. That rune was Ansuz - the rune of order from chaos, divine communication, ancestral transmission of knowledge, the power of the mind to use words and symbols for transformation and of the Vardlokkur.

Vardlokkur is an Old Norse word made from combining two words - vard meaning "warrant, guarantee, answer for; guard, watch, defend”; and lokkur meaning “magic song, magic charm.”

As physical rest guarded and restored my body, so too this vardlokkur answered the resting spell with a song of shabbat, restoring my mind.

Absolute Delight

ט'ו באדר תש"ע
Keowulf 17

It's time to fully invest in Goddess, so I did it. I'm retiring the witch hat I purchased from a costume company and have commissioned a custom made hand sewn plush black velvet witch hat made by a real witch with a natural talent for handcrafting witch hats.

The hat is about 20 inches from brim to point, with an approximately 50 inch brim circumference. Reinforcing wire runs between the brim layers, and up the seam of the point (covered so I don't feel it). The hat cone can be 'flopped' over as desired, and will hold its shape with the wire support. Brim band is hand stitched. Brim edge is trimmed in coordinating decorative braid. This is a quality hat which will become an heirloom.

I'm purring with absolute delight.

The cute artsy handmade (freehand, not stenciled) sisterhood sign I also purchased to hang near the altar in my bedroom.

Crown Jewel

י"ו בטבת תש"ע
Grael 18

Yesterday I braided a witch ladder while listening to Legends of the Goddess III. This witch ladder is made of earth tones yarn, dark brown hemp cord, nine wooden beads and a spiral Goddess charm. After completing it, I explored several places in my bedroom from which to suspend it for the night. I finally curled it up in a few circles around my fingers and placed it upon a golden hook on the wall over my bed. The Goddess charm was suspended upright upon my witch ladder, her feet pointed toward my bed.

Last night I dreamt.

I was in a public place with several people. A woman was sitting beside an open Torah. The open Torah scroll was sitting in a Torah holder. It was not on the bimah and neither was the woman. It was off the bimah, near the front but among the chairs where the congregation sits. The open Torah was not facing the the congregation or me, it was open toward the side, toward the woman.

With a look of disdain, the woman expressed to me in the presence of those gathered that "you think you know, but you don't know anything." With the Torah open, it was clear that her intention was to show me and everyone gathered that I didn't know anything, and that I wasn't as special as some people thought I was. She didn't like me, that was clear. I didn't respond.

I noted that both the woman and I were set apart somewhat from the congregation - but my separation was a separation within the gathering of the congregation - a small clear space circled around me even as I was among the congregation. We were all standing.

Her separation was different than mine - she was not placed among the congregation, she sat up in front of us, near the bimah. We were all standing up in the back of the room. She was sitting down in a folding chair at the front of the room.

As I began to wake up, but was as yet unawake, I saw that the woman had with magical intention tied my hands and feet together and hung me upside down from a rope. She wanted me to die. She felt I would indeed die. No one was going to help me and, in her mind, I didn't know anything and wouldn't be able to escape her black magic against me.

But, like my witch ladder the evening before (even with my hands and feet still tied), I curled the rope up and around in circles, throwing my body upwards with the process like doing a sommersault in midair. I landed crouched on my feet in the velvety deep garnet middle of a huge royal crown. The perimeter of the crown was like a circle around me. From within the circle of the crown, I easily untied my hands and feet. Then I stood up, straight and tall. I felt like a crown jewel.

A masculine Voice spoke in my mind, telling me that I was standing "like Kaman (כמן)", and "not Haman (המן)."

I woke up.

Festivals Of Fire In Time

כ"ו בכסלו תש"ע
Shamash 28

In follow-up to Through the Fires of Time, there are four festivals of fire in stellar time. These are the Greater Sabbats, the High Holy Days, of traditional Celtic witchcraft.

The four Fire Festivals can occur anywhere between 29-59 days following the preceding solstice or equinox. Apices of feminine power in time, these sabbatot are Imbolc (between Yule and Ostara), Beltane (between Ostara and Litha), Lughnasadh (between Litha and Mabon) and Samhain (between Mabon and Yule).

The Lesser Sabbats of the solstices and equinoxes (namely - Mabon, Yule, Ostara and Litha) are yearly lunar power points linked to the earthly feminine biological cycle. While times of imbalance in the solar cycle, they are times of power for the feminine Earth.

The Lesser Sabbats ground us with the full feminine power of the Earth Mother. The Greater Sabbats, the cyclical Fire Festivals in the wheel of the pagan year, expands our consciousness into the otherworlds of the heavens, and fill us with the full power of Goddess.

Empowerment

כ"ו בכסלו תש"ע
Shamash 28

This morning another friend of mine tells me she has been told that when teeth shatter in dreams it indicates weakness and loss of control. She likes my interpretation better - for my interpretation is empowering whereas the other interpretation is disempowering.

Indeed, as written in Called Up By Goddess, the shattering of illusions is very empowering. This is an important distinction to understand.

When our illusions (which are inherently false and disempowering by nature) are shattered, we are being made stronger and our minds are being sharpened [1] - both resulting in true empowerment. Contrary to the other interpretations which have been told to my friend, we are NOT WEAK to have been chosen by Goddess to have our illusions shattered, rather we ARE STRONG enough. And, we may indeed lose control of our illusions, but through it, we GAIN CONTROL of our minds.

So, I reiterate - teeth dreams are good dreams to have. Moreover, they are blessings from Goddess through which we are empowered toward and brought closer to our own inner Goddess.

Footnote:

[1] Another meaning of the name of the Hebrew letter shin (ש) is 'sharp.'

Called Up By Goddess

כ"ו בכסלו תש"ע
Shamash 28

A friend of mine inquired this evening as to the potential meaning of a dream in which her teeth are shattered. While we are each the ultimate masters and mistresses of our own dreams, I too, have had recurring "teeth dreams" ever since I was a little girl (and I am now a grandmother of six). Consequently, I am inclined to believe that my own significant experience with "teeth dreams" qualifies me to interpret such dreams in a general manner.

Generally, the turnover of teeth can represent a period of powerful change or transition driven by the Divine Feminine force of fire. Teeth dreams are good dreams signifying that Goddess is driving forward a major transition in one's life. Goddess is calling the dreamer up to the task of further spiritual development, to do greater magic.

When teeth are shattered, this usually signifies that our illusions are about to be shattered. How strongly we hold onto or how easily we surrender the illusions Goddess wishes to remove from us largely determines how painfully or peacefully we may experience the transition through which our illusions will be shattered.

Letting go of our illusions is a very important part of spiritual development - to be engaged and challenged by Goddess to do so is a challenge that is merited in some way. Only the worthy are called up to the test.

Teeth are also directly related to time, and specifically to the witches' wheel of the year, through the Hebrew letter shin (ש).

Archetypes Of Feminine Leadership

י"ט בכסלו תש"ע
Shamash 21

Early this morning, I dreamt many dreams. One of the dreams was the waking vision of a faerie door. Simply, it opened before me in wordless recognition of my presence as we came together face to face. We came together as if the two of us were one - the faerie door and I - the faerie door is integrally part of me, it is my own. It opened before me. I briefly woke up.

According to Celtic Faerie traditional witchcraft, portals between worlds were built long ago by the Faerie Queen. I then, am the Faerie Queen. What then is She, this Faerie Queen? She is an archetype of transcendental Divine Feminine power.

Lieutenant Colonel Prisco R. Hernández (excerpts from Jung’s Archetypes as Sources for Female Leadership) writes:

Despite the presence of matriarchal systems, in most cultures, social and political power has been disproportionately exercised by males. Western culture, which evolved within a predominantly Christian context, has its religious sources in the Jewish-Semitic Middle East and the Greco-Roman political and philosophical traditions, both of which are distinctly patriarchal. This means that in the political, religious, and economic spheres the majority of leaders have been male. In those cases where women have been called upon to exercise leadership roles, they were expected to master “trans-gendered” roles and exercise male-like leadership. For example Queen Isabella of Castile was admiringly described by her contemporaries as a mujer de ánimo varonil (a woman of manly temper).

Nonetheless, Western civilization has not been entirely dismissive of the female psychic energies. The four female archetypes of the Faerie, the Wise One, the Lover, and the Queen are found in most cultures and provide insights into female patterns of leadership. As is the case with her male counterpart, the King, the Queen is the most complex and mature of the female archetypes. This is because the image of a Queen who serves as a center for the mature ordering of things includes and transcends the other archetypes of the Feminine. Indeed the most powerful embodiment of this archetype is the Great Goddess—The Great Mother. This cosmic image is the equal to that of an all powerful God, the source of complete cosmic power, but at the same time is more accessible, less menacing. Images that may point to such a Great Mother, a supernatural Queen, are among some of the earliest human depictions of a higher power.

On a human scale, a powerful woman who is entirely confident in herself and is capable of serving as role model would necessarily reflect on a more modest scale the attributes of the Queen. However, all the essential attributes of the archetype of the Queen are present in a real woman who plays that role, regardless of the scope her real responsibilities—be she queen of a nation, a clan, or her own family.

Since the archetype of the Queen is the richest, most mature form of the Feminine, it cannot arrive at the pinnacle of life-enhancing majesty without first participating in the attributes of other important feminine archetypes. Just as the King is not born as a King, but must start life as a Prince, the Queen begins life as a Princess. The Princess is called to evolve to the fullness of her potential and must earn her Queenship through a path that necessarily involves trials and suffering as the way to experience and maturity.

Interestingly, there is a triform (Maid-Mother-Crone) Goddess path to Queenship.

If the Prince must normally develop through the path of the Warrior, the Princess develops through that of the Faerie. This is the one archetype that is distinctly different for male and female development. Just as the Warrior is the most natural complement to the King and embodies a set of virtues that are necessary to Kingship, the Faerie is the most natural first step on the road to Queenship. The explosive centrifugal energy of the male Warrior archetype is balanced in the cosmic order of things by the attractive, centrifugal energy of the female Faerie archetype. The Faerie is not just a Princess, she is the symbol of all that is fair, all that is beautiful, all that transcends material existence. These concepts are not merely ornamental niceties but are at the very center of Being.

Just as the Warrior appears most fully when he gives himself over to death in an act of self-denial, the Faerie appears most fully when she denies herself all intercourse with men. This is the source of her power. She places herself outside any man’s power; thus, she has the power to inspire, to attract. Consider the real-life women who have embodied the Faerie—Joan of Arc, known as La Pucelle (The Maid), Elizabeth I “The Faerie Queen,” the Legendary St. Barbara— who is invoked as the Patroness of artillerymen in many armies throughout the world—St. Cecilia—the Christian embodiment of Musica; all eschewed conventional attachment to men.

Joan of Arc, who like a Valkyrie takes up the arms and armor of a Warrior, is also a Faerie—inspiring many warriors to heroic feats and an entire country to seek freedom. Her words demonstrate the power for active leadership generated by the Faerie archetype: “Go bravely; all will be well. Have no fear. We shall find none who can harm us; indeed, we shall meet with no resistance. I have no fear for lack of men. There will be many to follow me.”

Another path to Queenship leads through the archetype of the Wise One. If the Faerie inhabits ethereal regions where all appears as bright and luminous, the Wise One inhabits the shadows. She is at home near the earth, even inside the earth, inside the dark, moist, primordial womb, the source of all fertility. The Wise One is no longer young. She is mature, rooted. She is likely to be old and she is a Mother, or more likely, a Grand-Mother. In contrast to the Faerie, she has once been a companion to the male, she may have even loved a male, but she has now transcended all that and has reached a state of superior wisdom. In contrast also to her male counterpart—the Magician—her subtle mind seeks not to penetrate beneath the surface of things and probe the mysteries of nature, rather, she looks inward into the mysteries of Being.

It is natural for the Wise One to seek separation from her sisters who toil in the world. Her quest for special knowledge requires long hours of solitude for study and reflection. Most often, the Wise One becomes a seer, an advisor. But in some cases, the Wise One may [also] rise to be a Queen. She may then combine the attributes of the Queen and the Wise One, becoming the Wise-Queen. The Queen of Sheba, the counterpart to Solomon—the Magician King—illustrates this type of leadership. According to the Biblical narrative the Queen of Sheba came to Solomon as an equal, for she “…traveled to Jerusalem to test him with difficult questions.” In the Story of King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba the Wise-Queen meets the Magician-King and she is satisfied. Notice how the Queen of Sheba—the Wise One—does not fall in love even with Solomon—the Magician-King. She is beyond easy infatuation; she is whole within herself, secure in her arcane wisdom.

The fourth archetype of the mature feminine is the Lover. Even more that in the case of its male twin, the female Lover archetype poses a problem when taken in the context of leadership. The Lover embodies the unrestrained embrace of the life-force. It is a life-affirming and creative archetype but one that eschews order, sacrifice, and rational knowledge. It is not easily reconciled with the orderly world of the Queen and its concept of noblesse oblige or inborn sense of duty, and is the polar opposite of the virginal Faerie. It is suspicious of the knowledge of the Wise One, because she has transcended this phase. And it also is dependent on the other—the Lover seeks to empty herself out and merge or become the Beloved. Could we then conclude that there is no place for the Lover in the spiritual makeup of the female leader? Given the importance of all archetypes to a mature and balanced human existence it would be wise to reconsider the paradoxical relationship of the Lover to the other archetypes. Can there be a Lover-Queen?

The powerful Ishtar/Astarte/Aphrodite/Venus mythological complex is a strong archetypical current that runs deep from the appropriately named Fertile Crescent through the foundations of Near Eastern and Western Civilizations. India has equally powerful images of female generative power in Shakti, and her three avatars or embodiments of Lakshmi, Sarasvati, Parvati. The Chinese Ying-Yang symbol represents in graphic form the classic Jungian mysterium conjuinctionem. Thus, the Lover intrudes powerfully into humanity’s collective consciousness. If a leader is enthusiastic, connects with her followers and is capable of inspiring them to accomplish the difficult deeds, she is partaking of the energy made available by the Lover archetype.

Thus, as is the case with the male Lover, the female Lover gains enormous powers of transcendence but she, and he, are subjected to “the other” and therefore lack the freedom of the other archetypes. This is the power and limitation of the hierosgamos—the cosmic marriage of opposites. It is equally apparent that the other virtues resident in the Faerie and the Wise One need to rein-in the Lover’s “oceanic” exuberance and desire to transcend all limits in order to allow her energy its life-giving role without creating chaos in the realm. But, in a different sense, if the Lover recognizes the One worthy of her love and subjects herself completely to Him, the results can be amazing. It appears that the Lover is as essential to good Queenship as it is to mature Kingship.

Of these [four archetypes of transcendental feminine leadership], the Queen is the leader par excellence. But the Queen must encompass other qualities as well. The road to Queenship takes an aspiring leader through the path of the Faerie and/or the Wise One. These two in turn remain puerile or sterile without the life-affirming attributes of the Lover. Thus, if we reflect on the archetypes of the mature feminine they offer aspiring women leaders models that may serve as sources of strength to help them protect, guide, and inspire their followers.

Where do I find evidence of all four of these archetypes in this weekend's writings and my own experience?

The Faerie - First, immediately apparent is the faerie door (legendarily made by the Faerie Queen long ago) of this morning's waking dream vision. Second, in my own current life, I am in a time of faerie. To explain, the time of faerie is a time of separation from physical connection to any man. Having remained celibate as I wait for the arrival of my true bashert, I have been in a time of faerie by consciously determined choice and vow for two decades. This time of faerie of Celtic tradition parallels the time of niddah of Jewish tradition. It is a time for female solitude, middot improvement and development of devekut with the Divine. Third, in my dream, The Comet - one man was inspired to follow this Faerie during her time of faerie into Kingship and all the way to mountaintop summit - and beheld the comet. The comet kabbalistically symbolizes the soul-root of messianic consciousness. Consequently, the time of faerie (in Celtic tradition), and the parallel time of niddah (in Jewish tradition), are times of pure feminine development removed from masculine connection. Importantly, the times of pure feminine development are critically necessary for linkage to the soul-root of messianic consciousness and for both powers of Queenship and Kingship to actualize.

The Queen - Again, the faerie door, built by the Faerie Queen in Celtic legend, of this morning's waking dream vision recognized me. I am its maker. In yesterday's dream The Comet, I stood "the powerful woman entirely confident in myself to reach the mountaintop summit to find the the comet-palace, despite that 'they' might try to kill me." I became a Queen and another became a King whom the collective of our people followed. Not only did I become a Queen, but I became a Queen entirely confident enough in her own power to enable another's attainment of power beyond my own. I the Queen remained on the mountaintop, while he the King journeyed to Palace of the Comet to prepare and bring it home. We both couldn't go, one of us had to remain behind as a link to the Earth. It could have easily been the other way around.

The Wise One - Like the Wise-Queen of Sheba didn't fall in love with Solomon, neither did I fall in love with the one following me up the mountain to its summit. I relentlessly moved on in solitude despite his fears that I was crazy, that I was a fool, that they would kill me (us). I continued on unperturbed by any concern for his concerns. My singleminded ambition was to make it. I did not stop to comfort him, to soothe him, to assure him, to take note of his struggle - nothing. I don't even know who he is, let alone love him.

The Lover - I obtained and harnassed the transcendent power of the Lover archetype through the power of self-limitation (tzimtzum - creating a womb for new reality). I limited and subjected myself to the Other by remaining on the mountaintop while the King flew to the comet-palace. Importantly, the King's ability to fly to the comet-palace came into being precisely on account of the Queen's act of self-limitation through the Lover archetype, becoming a Lover Queen - as I am also a Faerie Queen and a Wise Queen.

Taking all this together, in witchcraft and Goddess spirituality, the Faerie corresponds to the Maid/Virginal aspect, the Wise One to the Mother/Maga aspect, and the Lover to the Crone/Transcendent Feminine aspect. The Queen herself corresponds to Goddess (both Immanent and Transcendent) in Wholeness, and is the archetypal essence of the Divine Feminine.

Pagan Priestess

כ"א ברמחשון תש"ע
Phasma Priscus 22

In follow-up to Mystery of the White Bull and The Constant of Kinna Ha-Katuv, I note that I faced the tornadic waves of ocean water. The man I also faced opened his eyes while standing in the pouring rain. Interestingly, these two facts of trivia also connect to the mysteries of Lost and to my Torah commentary for last week, The Demon Dance.

The four-toed statue under which Jacob finds protection through time is the Mistress of the Innundation (particularly that at Khenu כנו), the horizon (the future), magic and mystical mountains, Taweret. Guardian of the north, fierce Taweret is an awesome protectress, both in the world and out of it simultaneously. Even standing on one foot.

Secret Of The Peaceful Warrior

כ"ג בתשרי תש"ע
Blodlessing 24

In follow-up to Magical Disaster At The Sweat Lodge, last night I dreamt.

There were three major groups of nations present at the gathering of peace negotiations. One group was represented by a Muslim leader and another was represented by President Obama. I was observing. The outcome of the global peace negotiations would be decided by a series of tests each leader of nations would undergo. The leaders who survived all the grueling tests would be judged fit to lead the nations to peace.

The final two tests involved successfully navigating descent down a tall tower whose top reached high into the skies. Only those chosen by The Peaceful Warrior could and would survive.

The first of the two tests involved drop-flying a small aircraft nose first straight down the skyscraping tower's side and then immediately, hairbreadths before smashing into the ground, turning the aircraft at a right precision angle parallel to the ground and flying The Craft parallel to the land a mere hairbreadth above the surface of the land. Making the proper angle at the proper moment was impossible unless one was guided by wyrd destiny to do so. Only the soul of the peaceful warrior could successfully manage the maneuver. I transmitted the maneuver to President Obama and he flew the course precisely.

The second of the two tests involved climbing down the outside surface of the tower. The only tool one could use was one's body. It was impossible to succeed at this test unless one knew the secret of doing it. You see, even the very breath you breathe as you climb down will push you off the tower and to your death if you don't know the secret.

I knew the secret and I transmitted it to President Obama. There are two magical elements which come together to complete the whole secret. Interpret them correctly, and you will succeed.

First, there is an invisible outward-pushing notch in the tower which no one can see, not even you. It runs down the length of the left side of the tower (from the left side of the one who faces it as it is faced). You must make a complementary inward-pulling notch running down the left side of the front of your body with which you can 'lock' your body to the structure of the tower as you make your descent. I transmitted to President Obama how to craft the proper notch into the form of his body to fit the notch in the tower precisely. President Obama cut the notch precisely.

Second, there is a special breathing technique unique to the successful completion of this test. Breathing any other way, any other way at all, will create enough force with descent to push every climber, body locked or unlocked, off the tower and to his or her death. I demonstrated the unique breathing technique to President Obama. He practiced breathing and then, began breathing uniquely.

Nations, President Obama's wife and family, and a blonde-haired woman gathered in the middle of Main Street (busy with traffic) in Danville, IL, in the heartland of this land, opposite the Towne Centre to watch his warrior's descent from the tower of truth. The blonde-haired woman was greeted by President Obama's wife - they shook hands and prepared to watch the descent. The unknown blonde-haired woman had transmitted to him the ways to survive this test. The Peaceful Warrior suddenly appeared among us. The Peaceful Warrior was a ritually dressed Native American shaman who had passed over from the Otherworld to attend, watch and bless President Obama's warrior's ordeal. He had been the one who had shared the Secret of the Peaceful Warrior all along with me specifically to teach President Obama. President Obama descended the tower of test successfully, becoming through survival of the warrior's trial, a peaceful leader of many nations.

After the ordeal succesfully completed, the wife and family of President Obama, the blonde-haired woman, the Native American Peaceful Warrior, and some national security people got into a car. Driving down the road, thanks was given that the blonde-haired woman had been found worthy to transmit the Secret of the Peaceful Warrior to President Obama, and thanks was given that President Obama had been found worthy to receive it.

After thanks was given, it was time for The Peaceful Warrior shaman to return to the Otherworld. I laid my arm touching upon his back, giving thanks for his teaching, as he flew out the window of the car and returned to the Otherworld.

The dream scene changed. There was a group of men who had been watching the whole ordeal. The blonde-haired woman was a member among their group of equals. The group was like a cabal and coven. Though unusual, the woman was part of 'the gang of guys' because, as one of the guys remarked to the reporter reporting on it, "she's an awesome shiksa!" and they all affectionately laughed and nodded in agreement. Like a cabal and a coven, this gang of guys and a woman was a magical learning group, like brothers and a sister.

"Shiksa!?" I turned to face them exclaiming, swatting my hand at each one of them.

I woke up.

Three Spirals Of Understanding

ה' באב תשס״ט
Lughnasadh 6

In follow-up to an earlier entry (Mystery of the Half-Blood Princess), there are three interesting spirals of understanding to be found in the analysis of the three Hebrew words which came out of that entry, namely:

foal - סיחן
horse - סוס
donkey - חמור

First spiral of understanding - The three words are a triplet of the Divine Feminine. These words are Torah of the triple spiral Goddess.

Second spiral of understanding - While the root (סוס) of the Hebrew word for horse means to 'move quickly', the root (סוח) for the Hebrew word for foal means to 'move slowly'. Before one may safely move quickly, one must first learn to move slowly and to progressively control moving quickly.

Third spiral of understanding - While סוס moves quickly, both סיחן and חמור move slowly. Moving quickly is balanced, surrounded and protected by moving slowly. This is the essence of circlecasting. The high-energy magic-making which goes on inside a witch's circle is protected at both the undifferentiated (nonspecific foal which can be either a horse or donkey) and differentiated (raw material substance) levels of reality. The consciousness of a witch's circle may differentiate into whatever is required to protect that which is inside.

Wind Of The Willow

י"ב בתמוז תשס״ט
Faunus 13

Last night before retiring for bed, I drew an Ogham divination card to read the energy in the atmosphere. That card was Willow, the fid saille. Associated with Goddess, the mistress of the mysteries, the moon, water, protection on deep journeys into the underworld, the power of binding, the harp, music, honey and mead, knowledge of time and proper timing, poetry and psalmistry, harmony, ancestral communication, dreaming, seership, understanding, and all that is feminine, saille has four steps to the right of the stemline (druim).

I dreamt.

I was among a small group of individuals who had been gathered together for the purpose of being moved around in the world as a matter of protection. We were loaded onto an airplane and flown 'above it' and 'out of harm's way'. The scene had the feeling of high level otherworldly espionage - those from whom we kept safely away were not of the normative human world, but of the mystical hidden world. Those of us flown to safety were masters in training. There were only a very few of us in the entire world.

Once we landed, we all went our separate ways, each of us accompanied by a pair of masters who had already crossed the fuzzy liminal line which distinguished novices from masters. The masters of protection worked in pairs. I had a pair watching over me, a master in training.

The liminal line that few novices survived (to become masters in training) was the place of beginning seership. At the place of beginning seership, a seer's eyes were opened to see the hidden but had not yet come to understanding. Seership at this level was literally fascinating - one became mesmerized by her or his visions and gazed into them with innocent curiosity in the effort to gain a clearer view of the vision. There was nothing inherently wrong with the novice doing this. The problem with doing this was that a deathly trap had been deliberately woven into the very act of doing it by ... by this ancient Creator Creature of the Deep Sea.

Each evolving seer had a trap woven since the beginning of creation into her or his budding power of seership. As soon as the person began to see, the act of seeing triggered a shift in the reality around the seer such a lethal lazerbeam was generated that the novice seer could not see. The lazerbeam was drawn from the seer's own sight, to focus specifically and directly on the seer, to kill her or him. A novice seer, though able to see a little bit into deeper reality, couldn't see deep enough to see the lazerbeam focused on to kill the novice seer. Only a master seer could see it.

From a set aside place in reality, I saw the lazerbeam focused on to kill me the first time I began to see. I also saw the pair of masters charged to protect me push me out of its path such that I had not been killed. From there, they had been teaching me to see it and how to avoid its lethal touch, as my seership developed into understanding. As novice seership evolved to include understanding, the lethal lazerbeam would no longer exist because a master seer's mind was so fast and moved at such a high vibration as to make the lazerbeam nothing by default before it became anything. Nevertheless, very few in the world ever survived the liminal line where the lazerbeam operated, where novice seers were either destroyed or lived on to become masters in training.

The Creator Creature in the Deep Sea was a masculine force in a silent Deep Sea. It appeared as a big worm-like fish. I saw it emerge from the hidden depths, and it spoke to me in defense of its killing of seers, saying thus, "I am the Creator Who brought All into being. I Create and I can Take Away."

"What a chutzpahdik little fish," I thought. On the one hand, I understood that in some manner it was the Creator. On the other hand, I understood that despite that it may be the Creator (in terms of Bringing Forth energy), it was still a fish Creature in the Deep Sea. The Deep Sea in which it existed had remained silent in the stillness following its boast. Something perturbed me about this silence.

The Sea is a feminine energy. Now, while the masculine Creator fish had spoken, the Sea he was dwelling in had remained silent. I saw and understood my own power.

I woke up.

"No!" I spoke with the Voice of the Wind of the Willow to the little Creator fish Creature, "you don't have the Authority to Take Away. The power of Destruction is a Female Authority."

Simply walk four steps in the complex Land on the left with a Voice Who Speaks. It is.

Deep.

Harvest Of Highest Beauty

ו' בתמוז תשס״ט
Faunus 7

In preparation for sabbat Lughnasadh, the upcoming Celtic fire festival which marks the beginning of the harvest season, I've acquired my first ritual drum - a tunable Celtic bodhrán made with a natural finish mulberry wood frame and a goatskin head. It's an instrument of most high beauty. So simply perfect!

Mulberry corresponds to the magical Ogham letter muin. The associations of muin include:

harvest
highest beauty
celebration and bounty
respite from labor to enjoy the fruits of one's labor
completion
exhilaration and joy
deep mysteries of divine ecstasy
inspiration
communication
release of prophetic power
the throat and the path of the voice
mead (also called honey wine)
in vino veritas (nichnas yayin, yatza sode)

Interestingly, most of last week I was bedridden with a nasty case of the flu, waking up one morning from a dream with a wizard's cauldron brewing up fiery energy in it [1] and feeling like my throat was on fire. The sore throat has since resolved. I am still recovering from the cough and congestion, though those have very much improved such that I no longer feel so weak as to be bedridden. I am healing and more importantly, my throat and the path of my voice have been purified by fire.

This instrument is a gift of Goddess to me.

Footnote:

[1] I didn't eat any of the stew-like concoction brewing in the cauldron, as there was fire in my throat already and the stew didn't appear appetizing to me on account of that. Also in the dream, I threw one of my pearls into a magical pool of magical water. Like Excalibur, only my chosen would be able to go into the magical pool of magical water to retrieve it.

248 Magical Dimensions

ו' בתמוז תשס״ט
Faunus 7

In follow-up to today's earlier entries, it is interesting that there are 248 dimensions or 'parts' (חלקים) which describe the mathematical group called the E8 Lie (pronounced Lee) group upon which the forces of physics may finally become unified.

Interestingly, none of today's entries were planned - they all flowed effortlessly from one another, catalyzed from The Best Part and a comment in response to that entry, into The Science of Scent, into The Five Elements Of Scent, into Eight Charge Dimensions Of Everything, into Co-Determinants Of The History Of The Universe into this entry, 248 Dimensions.

There are 248 positive (masculine) mitzvot in Torah. Whereas the first five of today's entries wandered around aspects of the Divine Feminine, the 248 dimensions of the E8 Lie group wander around aspects of the Divine Masculine. Thus, not only is there mathematical beauty in this new theory regarding the nature of the universe, but unity is also brought to the Divine Feminine and Divine Masculine forces which bring nature into manifest being.

The two words in parshat Korach which initiated all of today's entries were את-חלבו. As well as functioning as a sign of the definite direct object 'the', at (את) is also the feminine Hebrew form of the pronoun 'you'. The word חלבו has a masculine Hebrew letter suffix which renders the word to mean 'his best part'. Taken together, the two Hebrew words of the joined one-word construct את-חלבו unify the Divine Masculine and Divine Feminine forces of nature just as does the E8 Lie group theory. Moreover, the unification was elucidated in today's entries in exactly the same feminine to masculine order as the two magical Hebrew words, namely את-חלבו, abstracted from Korach for my Torah commentary entry.

It's magic!

Eight Charge Dimensions Of Everything

ה' בתמוז תשס״ט
Faunus 6

As the five primary elements which comprise the molecules we perceive as scent through the sense of smell are numerically related to the Divine Feminine by way of the 'feminine' number five (through the magical Hebrew letter hei and the sefirot Malchut and Binah), so too are the eight charge dimensions which are theorized to comprise everything related to the Divine Feminine by way of the 'feminine' number eight (through the magical Hebrew letter chet and the sefirot Binah and Hod.

Nitrogen, carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, and sulfur - these are the five primary elements which comprise the molecules we perceive as scent through the sense of smell.
