Prophetic Signs, Wisdom & Torah

In follow-up to my posts on the (eleven) "signs" (of Etz Chai) which mark my Hall Of Records, The Adversaries, the unexpected murder of Jewish actress/director/screenwriter Adrienne Shelly, and Yirat Hashem (the baker and the butler) - some important notes with respect to the "prophetic" connection threading through all of them:

Dave at Balashon writes regarding nes-nisayon:

The connection to flag is clear. And I think we can see the development of nes from flag to miracle via an understanding of the word as "sign". These aren't just miracles for their own sake - they are trying to show something, to act as a sign.

David Guttmann writes at Believing Is Knowing regarding nes-nisayon as pertaining to the idea of "demonstration" within the context of distinguishing nevuah (prophecy):

The word Nissah or its derivatives in the context of demonstration appears six times in the Torah and Rambam addresses those specifically. It appears three times in the context of the Mann, once by Avraham and the Akedah, once with regard to a false prophet and once at Sinai. In all four episodes the Rambam understands the word to mean demonstration rather than test.

Reported in A Socialite's Life, November 8, with respect to Adrienne Shelly (Levine):

In a shockingly prophetic interview, Shelly told a magazine in 1996 how her father rebuffed talent agents hoping to sign her up as a child actress by telling them, "I will not have my daughter jumping out of a window when she's 30." And in 2002, she told an interviewer she had "gone through life with this feeling that life could end at any given moment," adding she would not accept delays in producing her film projects "because in my way of thinking, I might not live another seven years." Shelly, who appeared earlier this year in the film "Factotum," starring Matt Dillon, was on the verge of releasing her latest directorial effort, a film called "Waitress," when she died Wednesday.

The article goes on to say, "Shelly leaves behind a 3-year old daughter, Sophie, and husband Andrew Ostroy."

In this news release, the "prophetic" connection can be seen to Yosef's dream interpreting ability (my "baker and butler" dream and the associated "7 years" tied to pharaoh's dreams). Also, the "waitress" (female hired worker) in the dream who directed that the Jewish woman and her husband not be given the "food of the free" is tied to the "release" of the film "Waitress".

Taking all this together, we can see that there is an undercurrent of connection running through my dream details and current events which pertains to the institution of nevuah, the "six" of Torah, the "seven" of pharaoh's dreams, the prophetic interpretive ability of Yosef HaTzadik, and the "servant-aspect" of the soul. The servant-aspect of the soul is likewise connected to anger (as demonstrated by the murdered woman) and idol-worship (as rejected in my dream). The food served by the "waitress" archetype pertains to the Divine Sustenance drawn down to or diverted from Malchut (via Shechinah/Lilith).

If you are told there is wisdom among the nations, believe it. If you are told there is Torah among the nations, do not believe it. [Midrash Rabbah, Eicha 2:17]

Test it. Demonstrate it. Prove it.

Jewish prophecy is rooted through da'at Torah and received into Malchut via the agency of Ateret Hayesod.
