Ariel Sharon Communicates

כ"ה בניסן תשס"ז

Several blogs (Israellycool, The Town Crier, Mere Rhetoric) and news sources (JPost/AP, Palestinian Ma'an News, a Canadian news site) are reporting that Ariel Sharon's condition may be improving. Apparently, Sharon's family reports that Mr. Sharon is communicating and responding to questions by moving his fingers, although his condition is still listed as comatose. Ariel Sharon has been in a coma for 2 years. The medical facility is not releasing any information.

NYTimes Today on Sharon's condition: The report on Israel’s Channel 10 news quoted Mr. Sharon’s son Omri as saying that he was able to respond to various questions with a slight tightening of his hand. “Father follows things with his eyes, he watches television, mainly National Geographic and other nature programs,” Channel 10 quoted Omri Sharon as saying. “He responds not only with his eyes, but with a firming of his hand.” JPost/AP
