Sod Ha-Ibbur

ט"ז באייר תשס"ז

The Celtic (Coligny) calendar, like the Jewish calendar, though primarily lunar-based, intercalates both lunar and solar time into its calculations. Unlike the civil calendar which is a solar-based calendar and has 12 months, the two calendars which calculate time by both the lunar and solar cycles each have 13 months. The Celtic model adds an intercalary month every 2.5-3 years. The Hebrew model adds an intercalary month 7 times every 19 years, which calculates out to every 2.9 years.

In other words, both the Celtic and Jewish calendars operate on a 19-year cycle; both intercalate solar time into the basically lunar calendar. Both of these lunar-solar calendars are ancient.

The New Year of the world, also unlike the civil calendar, is another feature shared between the Celtic and Jewish methods of timekeeping. Samhain, the Celtic New Year, and Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, both occur in autumn as opposed to in winter. The civil dates of both (astronomical) Samhain and Rosh Hashanah vary year to year.

The new day begins at sundown in both Keltoi and Jewish timekeeping.

Consequently, the data suggest that there is advanced knowledge (sod ha-ibbur) embedded within these two particularly congruous ancient methods of timekeeping. This knowledge was characteristic of both the ancient Celts and the ancient Hebrews.

Greetings,
You have some wonderful insights.
THANK YOU!
I as writing this as I am just now exploring the concept of ibbur... so I am a bit confused as to why you use the term sod ha-ibbur in the context of solar and lunar calenders, when sod ha-ibbur actually means secret (sod)of reincarnation/rebirth (ibbur).

Ibbur is when a righteous soul (tzaddik) comes into a body to help the existing soul on its path and help elevate that soul to a higher level.
This is in contrast to "gilgul" which is the reincarnation of a soul after a physical death, when a soul reincarnates/transmigrates in order to continue its elevation and correction process.

Ibbur helps an existing soul reach a higher level in its correction process without the need for a physical death to happen in between. It's a bit like a fast-track processing, or jumping to a higher level in a computer game by finding some secret tools!
Ibbur is like oistic tool to knowingly or unknowingly help your soul transform.

according to kabbalistic wisdom, our soul has several levels: Nefesh, Ruach and Neshamah.

We are all born with Nefesh (I have also heard that the Nefesh consciousness settles into our bodies when we have been in our body approximately 3 years).

During our first incarnation we also have the opportunity to elevate our soul consciousness by adding "ruach" at age 13, and "neshamah" at age 20 (I am still seeking clarification on whether this is age 20, or later.)

We then spend lifetimes going through a "correction" process, to change things that we do not like, with a chance in a lifetime to add other higher aspects of the soul, but only one aspect in one lifetime...
ENTER the secret of ibbur to help jump up a level!

Thank you for allowing me to share this with you.
