In Tropical astrological reckoning I am a Capricorn. In Sidereal astrological reckoning I am an Aquarian. In the Hebrew calender (itself based upon the ancient Egyptian mysteries), I was born in the month of Tevet which corresponds to Capricorn/Aquarius. Interesting, is this overlap of Tevet with times part of Capricorn and part of Aquarius.

I was there, aware at the Turn and the Dawn of the Ages, as the once-new Age of Capricorn initiated, and as the once-again-new Age of Aquarius initiated. Interestingly, and related to these turns of the Ages, is the fact that in Northern Tradition mythology, my fylgja is a mouse-like creature associated with the beginning and rise of the New Age of Mammals following the end of the Age of the Dinosaurs.

On the turn of the ages and prehistory:

The Platonic (Mayan) Age of Capricorn so began, when historical man Homo Sapiens differentiated from his environment and first became 'different' from its homo relatives, like Homo Neanderthalensis.

The Platonic Age of Capricorn ended so 130,000 years ago and began the Platonic Age of Aquarius, the latter establishing Homo Sapiens in coexistence with the now different other species of homo and other genuses. Up to this point in time, the Homo Sapiens and the Neanderthals used similar tools, but in the Platonic Aquarian Age, Homo Sapiens improved its technology and sophisticated its awareness of applicable tools.

Remembering back before, how can I tell it ...  I was there, aware before "historical man Homo Sapiens differentiated from his environment and first became 'different' from its homo relatives."

Twelve Platonic Cycles are 311,040 years and 311,040 years ago the DNA-architecture of what was to evolve into Modern Man became inducted by what is mythologically called 'Lemurian Root-Soul-Energy' and also as the 'giants' and the 'Sons of God' impregnating the 'Daughters of Man', say as in your Genesis encodings Genesis.6.2-4.

Indeed, even before this, I was there, aware ... my fylgja (a personal aspect of the folksoul) is the mouse-like first mammal to arise following extinction of the dinosaurs. This mouse-like creature is the Ancestor to all mammals living today, including humans.

You might now understand that this encoding describes something before the Noahic 'Great Flood' and something after the 'perfect ten Noahic generations' redefined the 'Age of Man' as 120 years from a previous 'longer lived' generation and bounded by Methuselah's 969 years as the 'oldest man' who ever lived. So now some of you may understand the archetype of the 'Great Flood' as the nexus point in the human history, when a previous hominoid evolution became terminated and replaced with a new one. The previous hominoid generation was Homo Erectus culminating in the Lemurian archetype and then continuing in a multifaceted fashion with concurrent homninoids like Homo Neanderthalensis and 'great apes' like Gigantopithecus and after having itself evolved from Homo Habilis and Australopithecine ancestors dating back so 12 Grand Cycles earlier to 12x311,040=3,732,480 years.

The mysteries of time, the evolution of consciousness, and the mysteries of the soul are all interwoven.

Ancient Time Cycles In My Life

My earlier entry (Time For Changes) suggests a Saturn Return-like period in my life, but I'm only 48. Given my age, what is happening right now in my life cannot be clearly linked with a Saturn Return astrological event occurring in my life. Nevertheless, the suggestion bears good fruit.

Considering the possibility of a Saturn Return brought to my mind another period in my life which could similarly be described as Saturn Return-like.

In the summer of 1996, I "returned to Torah". Thus, 1996 clearly marks an earlier Saturn Return-like upheaval in my life similar to the one of the present time. It is now the summer of 2009 - 13 years later.

The 13-year cycle clearly evident in my life may be a microcosmic reflection, first of the 13 katuns associated with the prophecy cycle in the short count, and second of the 13 baktuns in the long count, of the Mayan calendar. According to the Mayan calendar we are currently in the 13th baktun.

The 13th baktun will come to a close on on 13.0.0.0.0 (December 21, 2012), turning time over into the 14th baktun. December 21, 2012 is a Capricorn solstice. I was born under the sign of Capricorn. But as written in my previous entry, I have choices. I shall be buried under the sign of Pentacle.

Time shall move on. And so shall I.

It isn't fate, it's destiny.

Holy Moon

Today's tarot reading is also connected to the tet-nun phenomenon described earlier which unites opposite manifestations of Divine Providence in that the reading was performed under a waxing gibbous moon 95% full.

The digits of 95, 9 and 5, are the digit sums of the gematria of each of the relevant letters, where tet = 9 and nun = 5.

The moon operates on a 19-year cycle with respect to the calendar and the sun. The 19th letter of the aleph-beit is the letter symbolizing holiness, kuf (ק).

Consequently, not only was the moon under which today's tarot reading was performed, resulting in union of Divine manifestations, 95% full, it is holy as well.

Tinne - Conducting Messianic Consiousness

Sundown tonight כ"ג בתמוז תשס"ז begins the Celtic month of Tinne (Holly tree), a month able to conduct the lightening-like flashes of awareness without being harmed or burned by its own direct contact with the powerful energy.

Cyberwitch writes regarding Tinne:

The spikes of Holly leaves act like miniature lightening conductors, granting immunity to the trees. It's ruling planet is Mars and it's Element is Fire.

Mars corresponds to the Hebrew letter gimmel (ג), to the concept of reward and punishment in the physical world, and to the concept of running (ratzo) to return (v'shov) with benevolence.

Sundown Sunday marks Duir 1 of the Celtic witch's calendar. Yesterday I purchased a framed $80 picture of an arched (see chatoteret) white door on sale for $26.66 for my office. I'm going to hang it on my office wall Sunday. It's a lovely piece of art.

Duir is the seventh letter of the Celtic ogham and corresponds to the letters D and dalet. Duir is a letter of 2 lines on a foundation of 1 line (see chet ח) which protects the door from the malice and ill-will of any evil-doer (זד). Interestingly, the Celtic letter duir is an inverted upside down (hafucha) version of the Hebrew letter chet.

Reverse Vision

In my previous post, I discussed the "3 and/or 4" fire-related phenomenon shared by Celtic and Jewish mysticism. Specifically, the phenomenon is encoded within the Celtic fire festivals and the Hebrew letter shin.

Another point is striking about this shared anomaly - the northern parts of the ancient Celtic world are associated with observance of 3 fire festivals (as opposed to 4), and by extension, with the 3-shin of chochmah. The Zohar connects the north itself to the element of fire. Consequently, one would expect the north to be connected to the 4-shin of binah as opposed to the 3-shin of chochmah. Yet, one element of fire is "hidden" in the Celtic north. Instead of the 4-shin, the 3-shin of chochmah (and the right pillar) is revealed in the Celtic north.

In the Celtic system, the south connects to the element of fire. Thus, in the southern parts of the ancient Celtic world, the 4-shin of binah (and the left pillar) becomes revealed through the observance of the four fire festivals.

Taking this together, the data suggests that the Celtic system and the Hebrew system are ezer knegdo to one another with respect to the eternal flame phenomenon, like opposite reflections face to face. In other words, each may be the reverse vision of the other.

Sod Ha-Ibbur

The Celtic (Coligny) calendar, like the Jewish calendar, though primarily lunar-based, intercalates both lunar and solar time into its calculations. Unlike the civil calendar which is a solar-based calendar and has 12 months, the two calendars which calculate time by both the lunar and solar cycles each have 13 months. The Celtic model adds an intercalary month every 2.5-3 years. The Hebrew model adds an intercalary month 7 times every 19 years, which calculates out to every 2.9 years.

In other words, both the Celtic and Jewish calendars operate on a 19-year cycle; both intercalate solar time into the basically lunar calendar. Both of these lunar-solar calendars are ancient.

The New Year of the world, also unlike the civil calendar, is another feature shared between the Celtic and Jewish methods of timekeeping. Samhain, the Celtic New Year, and Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, both occur in autumn as opposed to in winter. The civil dates of both (astronomical) Samhain and Rosh Hashanah vary year to year.

The new day begins at sundown in both Keltoi and Jewish timekeeping.

Consequently, the data suggest that there is advanced knowledge (sod ha-ibbur) embedded within these two particularly congruous ancient methods of timekeeping. This knowledge was characteristic of both the ancient Celts and the ancient Hebrews.

Love From The Womb

From Goddess Gift, on the love shared from the womb [1] between Nut's children, Isis and Osiris:

Nut wasted not a precious moment of those blessed (five epagomenal) days, giving birth to a different child on each of the five days. Hence, Nut came to be called the "Mother of the Gods".

First born was a son she named Osiris. He was the son of Re and later became the god who was to rule all of the earth.

The Egyptian Goddess Isis, daughter of Thoth, was born on the third day. Her father was Thoth.

Isis and Osiris loved each other deeply, even when they were still in Nut's womb. The myths of Isis and Osiris are among the most beautiful love stories ever told.

Ruling together as husband and wife they created the first great nation of Western civilization during what was called the "Golden Age of Egypt" (around 2,500 BCE).

Five Days Out Of Time

This morning, I dreamt. One thing I will document regarding it is the mention of a name consisting of two names. Both parts of the name were longer that I can document, but the portions I retained in normative consciousness are: Shirl Nut

I also link this name to a dream I had some time ago and had since forgotten until now. The dream was called In Five Days. I had forgotten about the dream, because nothing significant to the dream seemed to actually happen "five days" from the date of the dream.

However today, I have a different understanding of "in five days". The dream was referring to the five days out of time created by Thoth for Egyptian sky goddess Nut to give birth to five principle Egyptian gods/goddesses [1]. The five days of the ancient Egyptian calendar are called five epagomenal days.

The five epagomenal days intercalate the solar and lunar cycles (sod ha-ibbur) into a single calendar [2]. Converting the ancient Egyptian epagomenal days to the Gregorian calendar for the sake of observance, the epagomenal days correspond to:

July 27 - Birthday of Osiris (Egyptian) - First epagomenal day
July 28 - Birthday of Horus (Egyptian) - Second epagomenal day
July 29 - Birthday of Set (Egyptian) - Third epagomenal day
July 30 - Birthday of Isis (Egyptian) - Fourth epagomenal day
July 31 - Birthday of Nephthys (Egyptian) - Fifth epagomenal day

While clearly the second part (Nut) of the abbreviated name Shirl Nut directly pertains to the Egyptian goddess Nut, the first part of the name - שיר ל - pertains to "giving birth". From the shoresh שרה, the name refers to "loosening" [3] the birth canal, making birth possible. Extrapolating from this, the "singing lamed" [4] refers to the actual birth (of expression).

Taking all this together, the five epagomenal days and the five days of the dream are speaking to the birth of messianic consciousness and expression. Messianic consciousness is the "ibbur" being born (into expression) "in five days" that is both in the world, yet simultaneously, out of the world (see "in five days" dream). The name Shirl Nut is the part of that process already revealed to normative consciousness.

She holds the energy of the passive principle. She is the Whole, the Center, the Axis Mundi. The primal Feminine energy, all things emanate from Branwen. She is the Goddess of the Land Manifest, as well as the Spirit of the Land. On Avalon, Branwen was primarily consulted in matters dealing with Her Realm – that is, concerning the full tapestry of Avalon, rather than the individual stitches. She is the Goddess of the grand scheme of things, the broader perspective that allows the greater patterns to be revealed. Transcendental Magick & The Divine Will

I've noted a discrepency among void of course moon tables. Most tables I've come across, including both Llewellyn magickal almanacs I have, are in agreement with the AstroProfile tables for the void of course moons. However, a few other tables have the moon courses beginning exactly or near to the time when the AstroProfile table indicates they end.

Consequently, there are apparently alternative ways to calculate the void of course moon. Not having the methods of calculation available to me at this time (which may change with further investigation), I'm going to consider the AstroProfile tables to be more correct. The calculation used by AstroProfile is the same calculation used in the Llewellyn almanacs, and given that I have Welsh-Celtic ancestry in my family tree, I at least know I have some inner connection to the the method used by AstroProfile and Llewellyn.

Importantly, I think I am going to start my planned reversal magick (may it be so!) during the void of course moon pertaining to the Dark Moon as listed by AstroProfile, considering it to be most correct. I'm going to do this for 2 reasons:

First, it's linked to the transcendental power of rectified Tohu.

Second, this link to rectified Tohu is a perfect "control" for the magick - if the Divine Will is to cancel the magick out, the magick will be cancelled out on account of the "natural void course" dynamic. If the Divine Will is to make real the intent of the ritual, the ritual will be infused with the power of the Light of rectified Tohu to make manifest the magick from a place "above natural magick" [1].

The void course is a both a source of great power and a source of "control" whereby magick not in line with the Divine Will may be cancelled out with my blessing.

Thus, if the ritual fails, I am okay with that. On the other hand, if the ritual succeeds, it is by Divine Will that it succeeds.

[1] Though I distinguish transcendental magick from natural magick, I still think both are natural magick, only the former is at a deeper level of nature than the latter. I don't believe in the "supernatural" in terms of something totally divorced from natural reality. I haven't quite decided how to term transcendental magick in a manner that retains the idea that it is still natural magick, only deeper. I don't like the terms high and low magick, because low magick implies something negative as opposed to natural magick as I mean it.

Integrating The Light Of Tohu Bit By Bit

Void of course is a term applied to the time the moon is between signs. For example, it is the time in hours or minutes of the moon leaving the sign of Gemini, but not yet moving into the sign of Cancer. It can be a few minutes or 2 days.

Traditionally, the void course of the moon is considered a time of chaos (tohu), disruption, when nothing works right, and times when we make more mistakes and bad decisions. The old saying exists with respect to the void course of the moon:

Whatever is done in a void of course moon has to be done again, repeatedly; and that which you want to repeat will never have a chance to manifest.

Of course, this dynamic assumes one is powerless in the midst of chaos (tohu). In the case where the power of tohu has been harnessed and mastered, the void course of the moon is a goldmine of a time. A veritable goldmine. A treasure.

If one clicks on the AstroProfile link above, one can see just how frequently the moon is void of course and thus linked into the hidden great light of Tohu. These times occur approximately 12-14 times every month!

Yes, generally the light of tohu shatters whatever it touches, including natural magickal operations. That is, until there is a vessel fit to receive it.

Tiw & Shem HaMeforash

In both Jewish and Celtic timekeeping, days of the week run from sundown to sundown. Today is Monday.

According to Sefer Yetzirah, Monday is ruled by the planet Mars, as opposed to the moon as one finds in traditional western astrology. The Hebrew archetype for the planet Mars is Yitzchak, and the Celtic archetype is Tiw.

Tiw is the archetypal power which governs War, Justice and The Law. Transliterated into Hebrew letters, Tiw may be spelled tet-yud-vav טיו. These letters in reverse vision are ezer knegdo to the letters vav-yud-tet ויט, meaning "turned away", "stretched out", "turned in", "extended" and "and pitched his tent". The word ויט is found in Bereshit 12:8 -

From there he relocated to the mountain east of Beth-el and pitched his tent, with Beth-el on the west and Ai on the east; and he built there an alter to Hashem and invoked Hashem by Name.

ויעתק שמם ההרה, מקדם לבית-אל -- ויט אהלה; בית-אל מים, והעי מקדם, ויבן-שם מזבח ליהוה, ליקרא בשם יהוה

ויט is also found in Bereshit 26:25 -

He built an alter there, invoked Hashem by Name, and there he pitched his tent; there Yitzchak's servants dug a well.

ויבן שם מזבח, ויקרא בשם יהוה, ויט-שם, אהלו; ויכרו-שם עבדי-יצחק, באר

Interestingly, both times in Torah, the reverse vision of Tiw is concerned with invoking Hashem by Name. In the second case, the letters ויט are themselves explicitly connected to the word "shem" שם (Name).

Calculating Halachic Hours

The normal calendar that we use divides a day into 24 equal hours. Normally, noon is approximately the midpoint between sunrise and sunset, and of course midnight is approximately the midpoint between sunset and sunrise. This is thrown off, of course, by daylight savings time and other minor factors.

The "Jewish day" (daytime part) divides the time between sunrise and sunset into 12 equal parts that are often called "halachic hours". Since on average, sunrise is around 6am and sunset is around 6pm, we can call sunrise "Halachic 6am" and sunset "Halachic 6pm". This will then make it easy to describe the 12 halachic hours of daylight.

The times for morning, afternoon, and evening prayers are based on the notion of the halachic day. Also, the times for the start and end of the Sabbath, fasts, etc.. all use the Halachic day, although in some cases fixed times are used. For example, candlelighting on Friday night is always 18 real minutes before sunset, not 18 halachic minutes.

Calculating Planetary Hours

The planetary days are divided into 24 planetary hours with the first hour of the day beginning at sunrise and the last hour of the day ending at sunrise of the next planetary day. The period that extends from sunrise to sunset (daylight) is divided into 12 hours and the period extending from sunset to sunrise of the next day (nighttime) is also divided into 12 hours giving the 24 hours of the planetary day. However, the term Hour does not necessarily mean 60 minutes.

These influences can either help or dissolve your effort so it is important to calculate carefully.

Your planetary hours are specific to your exact location. In order to calculate your planetary hours, you will need to know the sunrise and sunset for your area. You can get this from your local newscast, newspaper or online.


Now comes the math.

1. Figure out how many minutes there will be between Sunrise and sunset

For example, say the sunrise is 6 a.m. and sunset is 8 p.m. There would be 840 minutes of daylight.

2. You then divide that number by 12 to get the number of minutes in each planetary hour of the day.

840/12= 70. So, each day planetary hour in our example would be 70 minutes long.

3. Divide your day hours into planetary hours using the minutes as your guide for increment

hour 1 in our example: 6-7:10 a.m.
Hour 2: 7:10-8:20 a.m. etc.

4. Repeat process for time between Sunset and Sunrise (for the next day) to figure out your night planetary hours.
