Right away, a synchronicity is apparent within this tarot reading, my sixth tarot reading. The hebrew letter vav, with a ordinal value of six, emerges from the universe of Kadmon through the presence of the only card of the major arcana.

The presence of The Lovers tarot card in the ninth tarot position (Yesod) brings down a unification and integration of Tiferet (corresponding to vav) and Yesod (corresponding to tarot position nine). This unification has been brought down from the universe of Kadmon into the universe of Assiyah through the action of reading this tarot spread.

Like salt (מלח), with a gematria of 78, the decree of unification brought down through this reading is immutable. Any obstacles to its actualization will be banished through the energy of the female warrior moon.

P10 alludes to the "outcome of the matter". Five in position 10 pertains to the Divine Name Yah (יה) and Chesed (the fifth sefirah according to the Gra array of the 32 paths) in Malchut (the tenth sefirah). The suit of cups brings up a fit vessel (chalice-cup) in which to receive it all.

Amplifying Divine Shabbat Consciousness

Regarding preparation of the first batch of Feminine Clarity on Craftwork Of A Jewitch I wrote:

I prepared the first trial batch of Feminine Clarity ritual purification oil tonight under the planetary influence of Saturn and a waning gibbous moon 90% full (see link above for recipe).

Fifteen (יה) total drops of essential oil were used to make Feminine Clarity, where fifteen represents the concealed upper half of the Divine Name (the tetragrammaton). Fifteen has a digit sum of 6 (ו) and is brought down through gathering together the supplies and tools for making the blend into a focused location (my workspace) in time (last night). The act of actually making the blend further brings down feminine clarity into reality and forms the final hei (ה) of the tetragrammaton.

The five drops of cinnamon bark oil were quite by accident (the original intent was to use one drop) but I let the "accident" remain unaltered instead of adding other ingredients to make original proportions. Cinnamon powerfully raises spiritual vibrations, and given that this week is Pesach, the additional drops were likely an "accident" orchestrated by the Universe to raise spiritual vibrations by an expressive factor of five (hei, ה). There are five total "redemptions" in this blend. Consequently, this "accident" of clumsiness was no accident.

The waning gibbous banishes negativity and impurity through the channel of the letter tzadi (90 צ), where tzadi contains the power to actualize potential and to draw down divinity into the world.

Saturn governs Shabbat and is represented by the letter reish (ר). Reish represents clarification and drawing shabbat consciousness into the weekday.

Thus, the first batch of Feminine Clarity is characterized by rectified expressiveness (five, hei), clarity-clarification (reish), shabbat consciousness drawn down into normative awareness (reish) and complete redemption.

Later, I amended the entry to note that the vessel chosen to store this blend had also changed from the original plan. It is being stored in a ruby crystal bottle with a clear crystal stopper. Why?

Michael Braunstein writes regarding crystals:

The point is, you are using crystals everyday and all day long. These crystals, in the form of computer chips, transistors, clocking devices, liquid crystal displays, etc., are all doing some basic things with energy. They are maintaining, changing, manipulating the characteristics of energy to perform tasks. They store, amplify, correct and control energy waves. Not so mysteriously either. It is, as it turns out, a natural property of crystals to be able to do that.

Plain and simple! If your laptop can store information on silicon quartz crystal reworked by Intel, then what makes you think it's impossible that a quartz crystal pendant might store the energy of a conflict at the gas station earlier in the day? Or an argument with your mom. Or a loving moment of romance with your girlfriend? Energy is energy; crystals is crystals.

Crystal transistors can amplify Eddie Van Halen's guitar to 140 decibels of pure grunge, (through the PA system -- not his amp -- which is a Marshall and uses tubes, not transistors -- a whole other column.) Then don't you think an amethyst crystal properly used can amplify the healing energy of your body?

The Eleven Incense Spices

In response to my friend's request for more information on the eleven Temple incense spices, an excerpt (pages 85-86) from R' Aryeh Kaplan's Inner Space:

All evil comes from the universe of Tohu (chaos), which existed before the creation of the Partzufim (archetypal personas). It was at this stage, while the Sefirot (10 primary emanations of the Divine) existed as simple points, that the shattering of the vessels occurred. The purpose of the shattering was to allow free will to exist. Without a realm of evil it would be impossible to choose between good and evil.

In discussing the death of the Kings of Edom (the 7 Malchuyot-Kingdoms of the 7 "immanent" Sefirot), we pointed out that the shattering of the vessels began with the quasi Sefirah Da'at (knowledge). The first 3 Sefirot, Keter (Crown), Chochmah (Wisdom) and Binah (Understanding), did not shatter because they fulfilled their primary function to a certain extent. Because they were able to cooperate with each other in bringing the lower Sefirot to a stage of independent existence, they were merely reduced. The eight Sefirot from Da'at to Malchut, however, did not fulfill their primary functions. As a result, they were overwhelmed and shattered.

It is significant to note that this is the only time that eleven Sefirot are mentioned as constituting one unit. It is only in the universe of Tohu that Keter-Crown and Da'at-Knowledge are both present simultaneously. As we have explained, this leads to the paradoxical situation where God's knowledge of the future (Da'at) constrains His free will (Keter).

In order to rectify this and allow for the possibility of free choice, God must constrict and withdraw His Da'at-Knowledge from creation. This is accomplished by shattering the vessels from Da'at to Malchut. As a result of their descent into Beriyah (the universe of Creation), the possibility of evil, and hence free choice, is brought into existence.

In elucidating this point, the Ari (an esteemed Jewish kabbalist of history) identifies these eleven Sefirot of Tohu with the eleven incense spices of the Torah (Bible, Exodus 30:34). The incense consisted of ten spices or perfumes with good fragrances, and an eleventh spice, galbanum (chelbaneh, in Hebrew) with a vile odor. These spices were each ground separately and then blended together to be used in the Temple. Since these eleven spices (used in the Temple incense) parallel the eleven Sefirot of the universe of Tohu, they are therefore said to represent the complete rectification of evil. This is indicated by the addition of the eleventh spice, galbanum, which alludes to the elevation of evil back into the realm of the Holy.

The Talmud teaches that Moses was taught the mystery of the incense by the Angel of Death. It is for this reason that when a plague broke out among the Israelites in the wilderness Moses ordered Aaron to walk through the camp with the incense. This is the concept that the eleven incense perfumes have the power to overcome death and evil.

Following the idea of the ten fragrant spices and the single unpleasant one, the Talmud states: "every fast that does not include sinners of Israel (likewise any religious or spiritual community, for that matter) is not a fast." This is derived from the fact that the incense included galbanum. Just as galbanum was necessary to give the other spices exactly the right fragrance, a congregation is not complete without someone who has also fallen and who must reelevate him/herself through teshuvah (repentence, return to Holiness). In particular, when a difficult punishment has been decreed against Israel (or any religious-spiritual congregation) because of some evil deed, this very evil must be taken and elevated. Thus, the idea of transforming evil by elevating it back to its source in Holiness is intimated by the incense. It is for this reason that a (congregational ritual) fast must include "the sinners of Israel" (and likewise for any other biblically-based religious-spiritual congregation).

Achdut & Tribal Survival

Penguins know achdut. To survive the harsh polar winter penguins huddle together on the ice, all taking turns and rotating their places in the warm middle of the group-body mass to its cold outer edges so that each penguin has an opportunity to gain enough heat in the middle to individually survive. In doing so, most penguins in the tribe survive the harsh polar winter and the tribe lives on in significant numbers to raise it's young ones another year.

Human beings are not like penguins. There are those who remain warm in the middle and those who remain cold at the edges all the time. Perhaps it shall be the penguins who inherit the earth and the heavens. They certainly have demonstrated worthiness over human beings and deserve to.

Witch Wars - For The Love Of Power

(The love of power.) Without a doubt, this is the key element of many a Witch War.

This type of leader wields a mighty athame over the local community and, of course, his/her own group of followers and fans. They have their own P.R. kit. It's free. Take one. You'll pay for everything else! A good measure as to whether a group is exhibiting "cult like behavior" can be found via The Advanced Bonewits' Cult Danger Evaluation Frame. A typical cult hierarchy is as follows.

The Leader: This "figure head" (usually self-proclaimed) builds up his/her "power base" and is ready to take on the world if and when they are questioned by the community. You're talking about their precious reputation here! No dissent allowed! His/her power source typically includes the following subservients.

The Inner Circle: Their mission is to serve and protect-the Leader, that is. The inner circle has everything to gain by keeping their leader's name in a favorable light. This is often a full time job. If He/She looks good, so do they. This can only increase their own power and worth in the group. Let's not forget that the inner circle members hope someday to be the next in line to lead or "carry on the agenda".

The Followers/Fans: The depth of any group is dependent on the numbers of its followers or fans. The fans are often proud of their affiliation with the group and happy just to be involved. They'll do anything just to be able to say that they met or know this leader personally. This group often exists to feed the ego of the Leader and his/her inner circle. They also provide a nice buffer zone in case things get "sticky".

Does a group like this believe that they are doing wrong? Almost NEVER! They would say they what they are doing is correct and for the good of all. This is the heart of the problem.
