Raven 7
Last night I was hungry, so I ate a piece of pizza in the family refrigerator. The pizza had pepperoni on it. I don't eat pork as a rule, but last night, I thought, "what the heck, nothing has happened in the past when I ate pork as a little girl or before as an adult, nothing will happen if I eat this piece of pepperoni pizza now either." I'm not just Jewish. I'm from lots of peoples. I can eat pork. So, I ate it.
I had trouble getting to sleep last night, and when I finally dozed off, it was at least after 5 a.m. in the morning. Then, I dreamt. This is the relevant part of the dream ...
I had three children in my household. They laid down upon the back porch to watch a show across the way while I was busy arranging things inside the home. When the show was over, two of the children got up from the surface of the back porch, but the third child couldn't get up. He was stuck to the surface. It was like this - like a CD with recordings on it may typically be removed from its plastic protective cover, two of the children could be removed from the surface upon which they had laid down to watch the show. But the third child, like a recording which had been laid down upon the plastic wrapping itself instead of on a removable usable CD, he was stuck to the empty plastic packaging and couldn't get back up. While I could pick up the piece of plastic with him on it from the porch, he couldn't be removed from the piece of plastic cover. The CD had been missing from the surface unit he had laid down upon, and the conscious 'recording' had melded into the CD covering jacket instead.
The feeling which coursed through me at this realization was awful. I asked him if there was another copy of him. Yes, there is, he told me, but neither of us knew where it was. Thank Goddess, he has another copy of himself somewhere else in the home. He would not be lost to me for good, but he was hungry, he was starving and wanted to eat. But, there was nothing I could do to lift him up off of the plastic he had laid down upon. I fretted with a profound pain. I wouldn't be able to feed him until I found the other copy of him. Even more, I wouldn't be able to talk with him much longer because the piece of plastic he was bound to would not be with me forever. I have to find the other copy of him, soon - I want to do this before the piece of plastic to which this copy of consciousness is bound is lost to my awareness.
The awful feeling of sadness and helplessness I have this afternoon is awful. While all the times in the past, nothing became bound to the pork I ate, this time something did. Thank Goddess, I have another copy of this piece of consciousness. Sadly, I do not know where it is and he is hungry now.
Never again will I wittingly eat any pork or pork product. Never ever again. Consciousness may truly become irretrievably bound to it - like a recording being laid down upon a CD cover instead of upon the CD itself.
Never ever again.
