The Cost Of Success

י״ז בניסן תשע"א
Annwyn 19

Ohmygosh, I have 15 open orders from my shoppe waiting to be filled. Last week there were 21 open orders, and as soon as I filled several of them, new orders came. Some of the orders are rather large too. All I do anymore it seems is work, either at my day job or in my shoppe.

I'm really glad my shoppe is now making a modest profit after only 6 months of new business startup (since startup August 2010 while I was unemployed, with a taxable profit for the first quarter of 2011) and growth investment (as many new businesses can go year after year following startup without any profit), but I had to remove a substantial number of items from my inventory just so I could keep up with the pace of sales while working full time.

I think I'm going to focus my existing inventory a bit more and create some new candle lines a over the next several weeks. I've ordered a dipping vat and will soon be offering hand dipped shabbat taper candles handcrafted with premium certified kosher soy wax. I have some really cool ideas on my agenda for future growth and development.

I love my shoppe so much and the investment I've made in it toward growth and development is finally paying off! I'm making a profit now - the first quarter of 2011 is the first quarter I've had to actually pay any quarterly business income taxes. I've never been so happy to pay taxes in all my life! Yay, I'm making a profit now!

After I settle into my job and get caught up on my orders, I may try to post more again. I'd like to resume posting on my Torah blog too, but time right now, is consumed :(

Dare to be true to yourself.
